Blogster Wanderings and Wonderings and intrigues
Soooo, (LOL that should get the grammar natzi's going) yesterday I posted a few short sentences on my wall. I don't remember the exact wording of each one but they were something about it being my anniversary and hubby remembering we're married but not remembering who I am etc... it was a really strange day. Some guy came along and commented on one or two of them and before I could even read his comment all of my wall posts from yesterday were gone without warning or explanation of any kind. I was more than a little miffed. He's new here and he's a comedian and it's not very friendly like to run around deleting his every comment and it certainly doesn't help other newbies like me feel welcome when harmless wall posts like mine are deleted either.
I mean, I've been round here long enough to notice that sometimes things glitch a little but that was just too weird so I asked the guy what the heck he wrote on my wall that got my entire wall for the day erased. He went over what he could remember writing and it was all harmless stuff. He said he wasn't allowed to comment on posts either. I guess because he's new here? I know you want to keep out spammers and trolls but maybe you should take a look at explore and go after all those obvious advertisers on your top comments list before you waste your time on my wall? ... just sayin' I'm pretty good about giving anyone the ax all by my lonesome if they don't play nice on my blogster.
I tried working my way through some of the "contact Blogster" stuff just to see if someone could explain to me what's going on and then I discovered something very interesting. There are TWO Blogsters, one is a .com and the other is a .net. Every time I clicked on a link for help from the blogster.com I got switched to the blogster.net where they wanted me to put in my password again as if I had signed out.
Dear blogster,
If you have two legit sites and one's a .net and ones a .com and you're trying to make them work seperately but in tandem that could be part of the problem with the glitches? I noticed that on the .net site they're wayyyy behind the .com timeline wise. If you don't have two legit sites then someone has created an elaborate shadow Blogster and is carefully collecting bloggers screen names and passwords by hijacking your help menu hyper links and filtering them through the .net.
Just in case my paranoia is justified, I made sure I came back to the .com and changed my password before I signed off. I don't think I want that .net to have my password at least, not until I'm sure it's legit.
Alsoooo it would be really great if I knew why my wall got whitewashed. If I crossed a line, broke a rule etc. it would be helpful to know that so you don't have to spend anymore of your time policing my every random thought and I'll know which thoughts I'm allowed to have here and which ones I'm not.
I don't mind playing by the rules if only someone will tell me what they are.
I read the TOS and I know I didn't violate any of the obvious ones.
Anyone around here have some input?
This is what I see when I look at my wall.
From my view the entire morning of June 2nd is gone

writeaway...let me know who this guy is. It's likely a simple solution that I can easily explain to him. Thanks. |
Thanks for trying. Maybe it's just my computer and not your site at all. I'll try on another computer later |
PS: I notified rica about the .com .net issue. Whenever she gets the notice, I'm sure she'll check into it. Thanks for letting us know. |
It could be that your actual blog is a .com but the help site is a .net and that the two don't play together well in public. ;) |
I can see all the ones from the afternoon but not the morning ones... it's really weird... I took a screen shot of it. I'm probably just doing something really simple wrong. |
The same reason one climbs a mountain? Because it's there?... it's a good place for stray thoughts to get dumped |
Not unless I'm your stalker or your mother so, nope, I don't need to know. I have a twitter but it doesn't get used much. I'm not much of a twitter-er |
& what's wrong with a PM--same thing, isn't it? I never go to my 'wall'--or anyones for that matter. Sounds like graffiti writing on a wall:O) |
Yes, everyone can see it so it's a quick way to share random thoughts with all your blogster buddies at once. |
.net is an older version of blogster, still residing in the same server. nevertheless they have the same owners. :) May I ask what browser are you using? |
At the moment google chrome, sometimes IE and once in awhile Firefox. I have no brand loyalty at all and usually just use whatever's running at the moment on the computer I'm on |
Don't use IE when using blogster. IE doesn't like the ajax script that blogster uses. You will get more problems that way. :) |
Rica should be able to help you - and mamakat - so you have the right people responding to you. glitches happen now and then, but this sounded strange. hope you get it straightened out quickly. |
Just remember that if you say hi on mine I may or may not be able to see it depending in the whimsical humors of the Blogster gods |

I think we have been here the same amount of time. I have never noticed anything like that happen. Then again, I didn't even notice that I had a wall until you mentioned it... lol
