That's a bit of an inside joke known only to those from way back when, when Blogster was a small little blogging community.
Anyway, please make an effort to read the .pdf file below and educate yourself on the BENEFITS of Increased Atmospheric Carbon Dioxide rather than the hogwash fed to the globe the past couple of decades, and especially the past few years by blowhard, Al Gore. When I first posted about this petition, it had something like 13,000 signatures worldwide. It now has over 31,000 AMERICAN SCIENTIST signatures who are URGING US congress to to back out of the KYOTO treaty.

Letter From Frederick Seitz
This letter from Professor Frederick Seitz is circulated with the petition. Physicist Frederick Seitz was President of the US National Academy of Sciences and of Rockefeller University. He received the National Medal of Science, the Compton Award, the Franklin Medal, and numerous other awards, including honorary doctorates from 32 Universities around the world. In August 2007, Dr. Seitz reviewed and approved the article by Robinson, Robinson, and Soon that is circulated with the petition and gave his enthusiastic approval to the continuation of the Petition Project. Purpose of Petition
The purpose of the Petition Project is to demonstrate that the claim of “settled science” and an overwhelming “consensus” in favor of the hypothesis of human-caused global warming and consequent climatological damage is wrong. No such consensus or settled science exists. As indicated by the petition text and signatory list, a very large number of American scientists reject this hypothesis.
Publicists at the United Nations, Mr. Al Gore, and their supporters frequently claim that only a few “skeptics” remain – skeptics who are still unconvinced about the existence of a catastrophic human-caused global warming emergency.
It is evident that 31,478 Americans with university degrees in science – including 9,029 PhDs, are not "a few." Moreover, from the clear and strong petition statement that they have signed, it is evident that these 31,478 American scientists are not “skeptics.”
These scientists are instead convinced that the human-caused global warming hypothesis is without scientific validity and that government action on the basis of this hypothesis would unnecessarily and counterproductively damage both human prosperity and the natural environment of the Earth.

I read about this petition... http://www.ecogeek.org/content/view/1654/73/ I wanted to come see what you were talking about, benefits of CO2 and all. I know, and we have talked about, the detrimental effects it has on human physiology, so even if it did have environmentally sound and beneficial effects for the weather (which the majority thinks it doesn't), it still would have negative health consequences for the citizens. |

I don't dispute that, just as I do not dispute that we have poor quality air and that we need to clean it up. However, that is not global warming. They have nothing to do with each other and are separate issues. |

Gee Eky....what do plants do? If I remember "rudimentary science", plants take in Co2 and produce OXYGEN? Wow, what a concept!!! Plants NEED CO2!!!! Whoa!!! Without CO2, they would die!!!! And they produce oxygen!!! Gee, have you heard of "photosynthesis"? I know it is difficult for you to conceive of.....and it's a really HARD word, but think hard. Without oxygen, PEOPLE would DIE!!! Did you ever take Science in school? If so, did you actually LEARN anything? The sun warms the ocean, and MAKES the sea RELEASE CO2, the CO2 is taken in BY ALL PLANT LIFE, the plant life, trees, bushes, food crops, etc. ALL produce oxygen. And it is all simply a part of the NATURAL process of our planet. Al Gore just wants to make money on the stupidity of mankind, and the stupid liberal education that Americans have been getting in our dumbed-down schools by our liberal, dumbed-down teachers. Al Gore is a loser and a user. He made all of that money because of stupid liberals, who are so stupid and gullible, that they don't even know BASIC SCIENCE. My generation learned that in grade school. I suppose if you really want the effects of CO2, you could close your garage up, and start your car. And breath deeply. I am not in the habit of doing that, because I am well aware of the effects of CO2, but then you misjudge me, and my intelligence with your "global warming BS" And the vast majority of scientists. Did you know that Al Gore is being sued by the very scientists that you say support global warming? Yep. It appears that they are fed up with his irresponsible lies. And his practice of using their names to promote his lies.

Good morning Helen, I see that picture of Al got you hot and bothered. Oh I know all about photosynthisis, took Botany. Also took Cell Biology, Animal Physiology and Pathophysiology. So I wont bore you with the specifics of Anaerobic Respiration, Hypercapnia or CO2 role in Acid base balance in other organisms including us with. But I will say this. Do you really think there are as many plants around to deal with and convert CO2 as there was, say 50 years ago? Twenty years ago. Population growth requires resources, food, wood, etc. Deforestation plays a role in the reduction of CO2. We shouldn't only concern ourselves with CO2, but the organisms that change it for us into breathable air. The Majority of Scientists, agree, and especially climatologists (seems like they should have more a say than perhaps a phd in Math or a nephrologist, or even a dentist who got in the baseball hall of fame, but that is just me). But if the whole thing is just a collaborated scam, as you seem to believe, for the sole purpose of making Al Gore rich, and as you point out, 100 MILLION dollars, all I have to say is poor Al. He could have made that in one single year if he had just went into the private health insurance industry and just denied people the treatments they needed to live dispite paying for that insurance, like the CEO of United Health care. There are much more "lucritive" scams, wouldn't you agree.... |
