                                             Revival  4

                            Are we certain of Heaven?

Isaiah 58: 1-7; "Cry aloud,sparenot. Lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins. Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God; They ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God.

'Wherefore have we fasted, say they , and thou seest not? Wherefore have we afflicted our soul and thou takest no knowledge?'

"Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours. Behold ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness; ye shall not fast as ye do this day to make your voice to be heard on high.

Is it such a fast that I have chosen? A day for va man to afflit his soul? Is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him?

Wilt thou call this a fast and an  acceptable day to the Lord?

Is not this a fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thy bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? When thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thy own flesh?"

Virtually the same message is found in Zechariah chapter 7.

But these are in the Old Testament! What about the New? Simple; Simply read the words of Jesus in the 25th chapter of Matthew;

" When the Son of man shall come in His glory, and all the Holy angels with Him, then shall he sit on the throne of His glory. And before Him shall be gather all nations; and He shall separate them one from another, as a sheppard divideth his sheep from the goats; and He shall set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on His left. Then shall the King say unto them on Hisright hand,  'Come ye blessed of my father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungered and ye gave me meat, I was thirsty and ye gave me drink; I was a stranger and ye took me in; naked and ye clothed me,I was sick and ye visited me, I was in prison and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer Him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee ahungered and fed thee? or thirsty and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger and took thee in, or naked and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison and came unto thee? And the king shall answer and say untothem; verily i say unto you, inasmuch as you have done it to one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."

My advice? stay prayerful and always heed the leading of the Holy Ghost!

Part 3?

I think Bro. Charles this is Part 3 because you didn't have one yet. But it is good  Did you happen to see my 4 part sermon that I preached Last Sabbath July 25 2020, on 2Chr. 7:14 that I posted here? Bro. Doc

I tend to believe Heaven is like the Viking's Valhalla and the Greek's Elysium, or even a relection of the fictional Klingon's Stovokor. People always want something better and if they can't have it in this life they expect to receive it in the next. A good afterlife is a reward, if you will, for being a good person or a good warrior. But I tend to believe when we're dead we're dead and that's all she wrote. And the only "reward" we can expect to receive is if the people we leave behind either benefit from something good we've contributed to this life and/or remember us and think of us kindly.
