                                         Dry West Texas
I spent 10 years working in the West Texas oil fields when I was young. West Texas is DRY!!
There are shrubs out there that are about three feet tall, but have roots about 40 feet long to reach a little moisture. Those "shrubs" are actually oaks with regular size acorns on them.
There is a rumor out there that when Noah got his flood, Odessa, Texas got 1/2 of an inch of rain!

Lol!  And I thought they were tumble weeds, lol!

Texas was pretty dry when I lived there too, except when it rained and then we'd have a deluge of water because the soil was so dry it couldn't soak in. We lived in El Paso. Not sure if that's N,S,E or W.

El Paso is Southwest of Amarillo; The far Western tip of Texas; Lies between Mexico and New Mexico
