Should We Eat Animals?

When we were nomads roaming the plains of Africa, we were good hunter gatherers. We worked in teams and managed bring down even the mighty animals like elephants.

Since then we have become civilised, yet we slaughter and eat animals. Is this right? If you take account of the world population, any animal is always in danger of being eaten by humans. Hindu''s dont eat beef, becos they consider the cow to be a god. Cow provides you with milk, would you eat your own mother? Muslims dont eat pig, becos its against their religion. Christians, I dont think have any restrictions other than those that refrain them from eating fellow human beings. Isnt this why the missionaries frowned upon cannibals? At the end of the day we all make our own choices.

BTW, I am not a vegetarian. I eat chicken. Anyway these are GM chickens which mature in 60 days and wont live long. So in a way I am doing a social service ;-).

So may be in the future, we will have something like the replicators in Star Trek, that will provide us witht the delicasies without having to kill animals ever again.

Or we might get angry animals like the one below :

Mad Cow
