A Date with DMT

So the rollerblading double date didn't happen. Instead, Stephanie told me she had acquired some DMT so I ended up doing DMT for the first time. For those of you who don't know, DMT is dimethyltryptamine. A hallucinogenic drug that lasts anywhere from 5-30 minutes. Many people believe DMT is released by our brains when we dream and when someone has a near death experience because of the similarity of those two things. The effects come more quickly than other drugs and you feel like you are being pulled out of your body.

I smoked the DMT and immediately started to hear this buzzing sound, and that is the signal that you're about to get carried away. With all of my energy, I'm trying to hold my eyelids open because they just wanted to shut. I wanted to just get knocked over and become unconscious, but somehow I managed to fight this as I'm watching my reflection. All of the sudden my eyelids are jammed open. I saw my face and it started to tug around the edges and wiggle then it started to shrink into a gray little ball. It turned into an exploding sphere. A jaw out of the ball drops down. My forehead and cheeks explode out and in front of me is a polygonal face. If you've ever seen Playstation or PS2 graphics then it was kind of like that. Before I could blink again my head starts to morph. It starts shifting into different faces. My face was human, animal, fat, small, young, it was a baby at one point. It was like a character select screen in a video game. It kept switching so fast that I couldbarely make out all the shapes. I'm looking at this, blown away, not sure of what to think. Suddenly it stops and it's back on my own face. I'm back to my own reflection and thinking, "Cool. I'm back."

Teeth all of the sudden erupted, sweeping across my poors, my skin looked scaly like a reptile. I looked like what would happen if a velociraptor became transformed into something humanoid. I had this really weird feeling wash over me like, "Oh my God. It all makes sense." At the time it felt like, "This is the perfect explanation for everything that I need to know." It was like the answers to the universe were that we're all reptiles. As soon as I got this a sense of calm washed over me. I felt like I had gotten and learned everything I needed to learn. I heard this voice tell me, "You can let go now." I immediately closed my eyes and just dropped. I immediately thought that I had to tell Stephanie what happened. Stephanie checked on me to make sure I was OK and asked, "Did you find what you were looking for?"

I just burst into this maniacal laughter. How do you encapsulate all the feelings of everything I had just experienced into a response using language? I said, "I turned into a reptile and this is all a simulation." To convey that in a way for her to understand would be impossible. It's the kind of thing where you have to be in the experience to really extract value from it. It was like I finally figured it out: the answer that I was looking for. We're in a simulation because it looked like I was looking at video game graphics. I looked like a polygonal character. To me, that was proof that this entire world is nothing but a simulated reality. I had gotten my proof, and it was both beautiful and terrifying at the same time because it was like I felt like I didn't have anything to be afraid of anymore because it's just a simulation. When I die, I'll wake up and be the real me: the reptile.

Wow, so did you sense that we are all reptiles or just you??  That is an interesting experience.    However, I don't think I have the nerve or desire to take something like that because 1. scare and 2. desire to be in control, even though ultimately I know I am not.

I sensed that it was just me. I enjoy hallucinogen. There are a whole other class of drugs I have no desire to try such as crack, meth, things of that nature. DMT, shrooms, LSD ... all of those were fun.

That would frighten the life out of me.

At times it was scary but overall it was an amazing experience.

it's just a simulation

Whose? {#cool2.gif}

Whomever's you want it to be.

I do not miss the "Garden of Eden" one bit...

At times I've wanted to try DMT.

You should.
