Comedy Cures All!
Everybody can relate to a great comedian. What’s not to love? There are some comedians that touch around sensitive political issues in clever ways and others that are just downright absurd. Their goal is to get laughter out of the audience, but one must do so without discriminating. The best comedians are successful because they keep the audience laughing, even when topics are borderline stereotypes of certain cultures and ethnicities.
Cultures differ in many ways, but laughter can bring a diverse group of people together if it is pronounced in a clever, yet not a alarming manner. Comedian Maz Jobrani made a joke about stereotyping Asians as bad drivers, which isn’t absurd because I have heard the stereotype before. He cleverly got many laughs by the way he switched subjects immediately after his stereotype comment and made fun of his own culture.
Maz Jobrani informed the audience that people don’t treat Iranians the same. He explained about how they are looked at differently because of many historical incidents. He explained how the media only shows people from Iran blowing stuff up and and how Iran is looked down upon. Then he brought up his next point to show the world that they are normal human beings as well. He explained “everytime they show us on tv, they show that crazy guy burning the flag saying 'death to America!' Just once i want them to show us, o... i don't know... baking a cookie!" He explained how Iranians are innocentand that "we bake cookies too!” In the end, comedians have a huge impact on how the media, politics, and people like me, view the world!

I never heard of Maz Jobrani but then I have never been into stand up comedy and haven't laughed at some of the supposed 'greats'.
