How good of a tracker could this guy be?

Saw this headline as I was going from web-site to web-site: "Large glacier near Seattle has 'completely disappeared,' says researcher who has tracked it for years…?" I didn't actually read the article, but if the glacier was that "large" - and this guy was a reasonably decent tracker - one would expect him to be able to keep tabs on the whereabouts of the glacier... So how good of a tracker could this guy be?

Lol must have been UFO that either flew away or sank. I'm not sure how else one could lose track of a glacier.
