A response to Ceilede’s “the Media is Missing…Power Grab – again” and Elie Mystal claims in the Nation magazine…

Glanced [Note: “glanced” is a key word; cannot subject myself to reading – word-by-word what amounts to an emotional rant by Elie Mystal…] at Ceilede’s blog post regarding the Media – again – missing the Republican ‘power-grab’ Elie Mystal – who writes for the Nation (a Leftist magazine; the polar opposite of the National Review) – and argues/writes wherein he confuses – we think viscerally – Obama’s nomination of Merrick Garland to SCOTUS with Trump’s nomination soon to be realized via Senate confirmation. Mystal – obviously – is a slave to his passions, for there is a clear distinction which a rationally disposed individual would/will make regarding the contrast of the two incidents of filling SCOTUS vacancies, viz: POTUS Trump is a Republican and the Senate majority – from whence it is assumed that the requisite majority number of votes will be cast so asto conform Trump’s appointment – is also Republican.

Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell (R) in 2016 rejected taking up Obama’s nomination; this because Obama lost the Democrat controlled Senate in the previous 2014 and McConnell asserts this is evidence that American’s were not happy with those things on which the Executive and Senate had to cooperate e.g., filling Federal bench vacancies… McConnell - as a Republican – is not being inconsistent, or contradicting his behavior/actions regarding the rejection of considering Merrick Garland in 2016; actually he is demonstrating principle. Whereas POTUS Trump – in seeking to fill a SCOTUS vacancy [made all the more necessary by the undoubted ubiquitous attempt at election theft, by Democrats, social-political Leftists, the mainstream Press and other sundry individual and organizations which may benefit from Democrats obtaining power...] is fulfilling a Constitutional duty. Moreover, for POTUS Trump to wait until after the election to fillthe SCOTUS vacancy, or until a new Senate is seated, would be tantamount to neglect of his Constitutional duties and oath-of-office in which he has sworn to ‘defend-and-protect the U.S. Constitution from all enemies foreign an domestic’ given all of the wicked individuals [foreign and domestic enemies of the rule-of-law and the U.S. Constitution] acting to subvert the American elections of 2020. So Elie Mystal’s claim of a “power-grab” is complete and utter nonsense!
