About Me
I'm a forty something (ok I'll say it. 45. I included my birth year, so who gives a fuck) married, mother of 3 who works from home as a corporate travel agent. I've been married for 23 years, I've been a mother for 22.5 years and a travel agent for 25 years. I never went to college because I didn't have parents who believed in going that extra mile and I truly will never forgive them for that. To this day I wish I had gone to college. I still want to go to college. And live on campus. But, I can talk about that later.
I grew up in the 80's which in my opinion, was just about the best time to grow up in America, ever, except for maybe the 50's. My parents divorced when I was about 8 years old and unlike a lot of kids from broken homes, I really didn't care. They were better off apart anyhow and besides, having a one-parent home kind of left us with a lot of freedom and not much supervison. I'm quite certain I wouldn't have had the fun teenage years that I had if both parents had cared enough to pay attention to us.
I became a travel agent because I didn't go to college and the recruiter from travel school knocked on my door and talked me into it. It's a good thing a janitor from janitorial school didn't knock that day. I may very well have just said "Ok, I'm your girl, let's get started." But that didn't happen. Instead it was the travel guy and the travel industry sounded glamorous. Little did I know what morons I would be dealing with for the next 25 years. (Can I book the train from New York to London please?) WHAT?
Anyhow, shortly thereafter I met my husband, got married, had 3 kids, built and moved into our own home and started my life. I guess there is plenty of time here to elaborate on all of that. I've accomplished quite a lot but there is one thing I've ALWAYS wanted to do and it's something people tell me I SHOULD do. And that is to become a writer. Plus I need to get rich. Wait. I'll be more precise. I don't want to actually get rich, although I'd be liar if I said I didn't want to be rich. I just need to make about $250,000, so I can pay off all of our bills and my husband, the heart patient, can finally retire and not work so hard. What better way to make money than to write and get people to buy my shit?
I've tried writing about a million times. I've started a ton of blogs. Bullshit blogs, Cooking blogs, drinking blogs, mini novels. You name it, I've tried it. But I really haven't put any kind of effort into it. I know I have a couple of books in me, (no. They are not in my vagina, thank you very much) and people are always telling me I should write my stories. Apparently, I'm hilarious at times. So, this time I've decided to give it a go and I'm going to devote some actual time and effort to writing. Who knows, maybe I can go back to college and take some writing courses.
So, as I sit here now, a lot of changes are happening in my life and I plan to start writing about them. I'm quite sure it's going to be entertaining and I hope you enjoy my life and my stories. Who knows, maybe someday I will get that novel out of my vagina before I get an infection.
See you on the flip side.
