Well being that I am a parent....I really can not answer these. But I sure would be interested in seeing the results if a lot of kids complete the survey.

I surely hope that none of the statements in number 2 are things your average parent would say??

Karen, life is tough when you are a teenager--if only they didn't ahve to deal with parents, teachers, adults!!!  lol

3 stikes and I am O.U.T.!!!

Yes, I agree with martin.....keep this post and save it until you have teens...you will have a good laugh!

But teachers and parents aren't adults--ask any teenager!!!  LOL

hehehe....makes me think of last night.....singing happy birthday to my son. I had all my family over. I was singing way off key and screaming the song at the top of my lungs....about half way through my son blew the candles out really fast and said "Enough, I can't take it anymore!"

Inmature, yea.......Funny, hell yea!

I have heard many parents say the first two... Well i appreciate my parents and all  of the things they do for me and have done in the past, But of course like anybody certain things that they said in the wrong situation become irritating to me..

Keep this so you can read them 20 years from now and ask yourself "Did I really post that?" because you will be saying/doing so many of these things---and in your parent's voices!!!  LOL

Well, First I have to say I don't particularly want any children,

But if that changes and I do, I would hope that if I do these or say these things to them, I will be told that I'm offending them if that's the case. I want to have communication in any situation because without communication you never know what's going on with anybody. And in my parents voice?? ohhh, Scary thought there man, they always sound upset, happy or not, I would hope you mean that figuratively.. lol -Skylar J

No Skylar--EVERY adult hears their parents in their head, and voice, when they say those things their parents said to them.

Who will tell you that you are offending them? Them??? No way!! LOL

If you are ever a parent you will say, more than once, 'because I said so' and many women here will tell you many things you will say to your kids that they swore they never would say to theirs--just ask them!  LOL

Everything you are saying about your parents every generation, including mine, said the same about theirs--as I am sure many of your peers will say their parents are the same as yours. It is a part of growing up.

*LIKE*

Typically,

They don't properly teach,

Don't properly discipline, and

Don't properly control their offspring

Ouch, Have we got someone with a strong opinion? Cool.

Well, They can't "Properly" Teach because they don't know everything (Although they think they do).

They don't Properly discipline, Because they are all getting soft.

and yes but no.. My parents did. you'd never see us misbehaving in public... Ever, Lest the wrath of mothers anger burn through your soul.. Jkjkjkjk but she did get pretty mad. But I agree a lot of people don't properly control their children.. I'm not sure why. -Skylar j.

Typically again...for the offenders:

1) Apathy & disinterest (which attitude actually makes them child-abusers),

2) Expecting the government (schools) to take care of that parental duty (which attitude actually makes them child-abusers), and...

3) Don't have a clue (though it is inadvertent, it is still Child Abuse)

4) No backbone (see above)

Well, I appreciate that you stick with your opinion when it's challenged.
