A Rose

A Rose
I was told this is called a milk rose. I did the border with a photo program, just to turn it into something nice.

License & Registration Please.....

License & Registration Please.....
I supposed it's comforting to know you sushi has a license before you eat it.......Unless it's a license to kill......uh oh......

David...

David...
This was in the window of a Vancouver restaurant. Maybe it's a newfangled wine dispenser......

His Lady....

His Lady....
Apparently she has mammaries for her memory.....

Pulling Back The Curtain On Art......
Thought this sculpture on a the side of a building was pretty well done.

Did not try their beer, but I was tempted to go in.

Well not bad for a try but I think fangio did better--and of course wait til you see mine tomorrow--if it is any consolation you are a good caption writer! :O)

GM - I guess I'll take the crumbs of the critic's praise while I continue my apprenticeship.  Only 8 more years to go.....

Okay I'll wait and observe your apprenticeship as I have plenty of time!

Sushi is yucky.. yeah and I doubt that I would ever try their beer either

rant - I like vegetarian sushi, but don't like raw fish.  Had raw tuna sushi once (1 piece).  Almost threw up immediately.  Took all the self control I had to keep the thing down.

Are the ones with the male and female torsos holograms projected into the window?  They are very clever.

Fangio - Nope, they are actual statues hanging in the restaurant.  Sort of between the tables and the windows.

Didn't you think to put a brick through the window to get a clearer shot?  LOL

So many creative people - so little time.

WW - Better that than the reverse, I guess.  Hang in there.

Excellent, what a great collection of photos. Very artistic.

Ana - Thanks for the star.  I'll put it up on my wall.{#basic-smile.gif}

GOOD you deserve it!

David meets Venus.

Brad - That's her name.  I drew a blank before when I posted them.

Great pics, as usual.  Loved the fence...hope they're not trying to keep people out, it could be climbed like a ladder...lol

Really liked the reflection pics, too.  Very nice.

Thanks mamakat.  I was not sure whether to include the fence, as it didn't have a ton of pizzazz, but glad you liked it.

Thanks, Skinny...I needed a giggle...

BFD - So the big strong ex military types need "a giggle"?...{#basic-smile.gif}     Had me smiling.  Anyway, a giggle probably goes a long way after the fires that you've had there, so happy to bring some good cheer.

Enjoyed all of the photos as always! The curtain photo was my favorite....maybe because I like wall art!

MS - Never thought there was a category of "wall art", so I learned something new today.    ......Hmmmm,  is wall art related to Wall E ?

Hummm? Don't know, Wall art may be a more sedentary relative of Wall E.

LOL @ the sushi sign and your caption.  Well done per usual skinny.....

you provide me with needed laughs.  thanks.

MM - No charge for the laughs.  Are things any better with your mom?

nothings better than free laughs!!

no skinny....its a waiting game now.  thanks for asking.

Skinny your sharp as a tack with your captions! Loved the pics as well, LMAO Wine dispenser!

Okie - Well, it would make a great dispenser.......

Great photos, I can almost smell the rose.

Margar3t - thanks.  I like white roses, so beautiful.

All the photos were wonder as always, but there was something about the rose. :) I just love the way roses smell.

Skinny, you find the darndest things!   I really like the scupture on the building and the statues are, well, unique!   Another great selection of objects to photograph and funny captions too.  {#apploud.gif} {#apploud.gif}

I did a reply but it didn't link to this, so heads up.

Kat - Scouring the world to keep you entertained.....

  It doesn't take much to entertain me and these photos sure do it, so thank you! {#basic-cool.gif}

That sushi sign is awesome!

d - peace of mind for nervous patrons I guess.

Exactly!

Fences=those that exist along with those that we create in our mind that capture us until we break them down.

True.

SG:the sculpture is neat but I'm having trouble "reading" it's meaning. Drawn curtain with a ring symbolizing the circle of love-life with two love birds perched on top getting ready to "fly away"....my imagination has gone wild again I suppose.

I once shared ownership of a neat life size bronze scupture with a man with a stick rolling a large hoop.  I got the dogs the ex got the sculptures....I never regretted that decision tho once in awhile would love to have the art object back. That's probably why I have a love of visiting sculpture gardens to this day since I can't afford them in real life but appreciate their beauty.

Now Hersh, am I gonna hafta interpret everything for ya?

It's obvious that the ring symbolizes the ring around the bathtub.  No matter how hard you scrub, it's always there.  The birds are a parallel act in this play.  No matter where you park your car, some bird is gonna leave it's calling card on your windshield or roof.    The lesson is that once the curtain is pulled back on the act of life, there are always things that are crapping on your life, and sometimes you'd cut off your left arm to be free of them.....

How's that?...{#basic-smile.gif}

SG: ROFLOL but some of us look at things with a realistic point of view, like you,...... and others, like me see it thru Rose Color Glasses or blinders if your horsey. I think love eternal ( the ring)  birds singing like in  the movie Cinderella weaving ribbons in my hair, and the accordians playing in the background=thus the accordian pleat window treatment.

Bathtub rings? bird crapola? and problems? No, way Skinny. Not in my imaginary world of chocolate and bliss. {#blue_bird.gif}{#blue_bird.gif}{#blue_bird.gif}{#blue_bird.gif}
