Have you ever watched the movie 'Hotel Transylvania'?

One cable channel is doing the 31 days of Halloween and showing themed movies for the month.

I don't know how Halloweenish Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is, but that is one movie they are showing.

I did record and watch Hotel Transylvania which is an animated movie. It was okay, but I couldn't wait for it to end, so that should tell you something about an adult watching it....LOL

They did make two sequels of the movie, but I won't be watching those. Watching the first one once was enough to last me a life time.

Maybe it's just me, but I'll watch any holiday special from the 60s, but have never cared for newer specials/movies.

Last week I watched the Nightmare Before Christmas and still can't figure out what is so 'big deal' about that movie.

I think I fast forward most of it since it was recorded, as I just don't care for it.

Thought I would watch it again, but nope, still not into it.

Can't believe you can still go to stores and buy new Halloween merchandise for that movie.

Bettlejuice is another movie where seeing it once was once to many, but it's popular this year also in the stores with new merchandise for Halloween.

Oh well, guess I'm the old fashion type when it comes to holiday specials andn will soon be looking out for the 60s era Christmas specials which will be starting soon.

Our family tends to be perverse, so Bettlejuice and Nightmare before Christmas were year-round staples at our house.  One of the lines in Bettlejuice stands out as being particularly relatable to me... "If you don't let me gut out this house and make it my own I will go CRAZY... AND I WILL TAKE YOU WITH ME!"

I think the music had a lot to do with our enjoyment.   w e still sometimes break out in a harmonious rendition of COME MEESTER TALLY MAN TALLY ME BANANA...

Hocus Pocus is another favorite.  "We LOVE CHILDREN... ON TOAST!"

I know I've seen at least one of the Transylvania movies, but I'm not sure which one.  Not memorable is all I can say.

Ah yesss, "the nesting instinct"...arrrg

I recorded Hocus Pocus also and will watch it next weekend.

Not my kind of movie so I run from them!!! :O)

Don't worry, it's not scary so you won't have nightmares. {#basic-laugh.gif}

Not worried about scary--just know too many Transylvanias!!

I can't remember, which likely tells you something.

I never watched that movie before.  I really have a sellect few that I watch during the C'mas holidays. The animated Rudolph and then the Home Alone movies and Its A Wonderful Life and A Christmas Carol w/George C. Scott, that's about it.

I'm not a fan of Home Alone, saw it once.

One year I did watch three A Christmas Carols, one from the 30s or 50s, the George C. Scott one, and the Muppet version. All were good and done differently to feel like they were different.

Nope.

I saw it in the theaters and that was fine Free Form repeats their line up of movies to the point just flipping through makes me scream.

As much as I like Hocus Pocus I'm sorry after seeing airing over and over its not quite as special.

I guess before the moth is out they will slip Edward Scissor hands and a few more Tim Burton movies once a year is fine. Lol

I thought they would be having something different each day in October, but they just repeated the same things over and over.

Exactly! Enough to make you go screaming into the night!

No not seen it.

Yes, seen them all as I am afraid I do like some of the kids animated stuff. I have watched all the ' Ice Age' ones and ' Despicable Me ' and quite a few others - making up for my childhood I guess.

But I also enjoy watching old b/w films too.

I like 50s era Scifi movies, some are so bad they are good and fun to watch.

Especially the punch ups as they make you laugh when you can see it's a stuntman wearing a wig 😅

I've seen Hotel Transylvania and like you, could not get into it. Of course, I've never been a fan of Willie Wonka either. Which is strange considering that I am a fan of all of the Harry Potter movies and things like Fantastic Beasts, Toy Story, Moana, Monsters, Inc, Despicable Me and the Incredibles.

I don't seem to be able to get into anything newer that is made. To much computer graphics are used which don't look right to me.

Looks real enough to me but then I don't have any depth perception so it could be flat as a board and still look okay.
