Another storm and another ebay kind of day

Another storm started today and should be around today and tomorrow.

The wind started about 4:30am and the rain is just starting. I'm tired of hearing the wind and of storms in general.

It's been so long since we used to have a lot of storms that I'm not used to it I guess.

As I've said before, I hate high winds.

I had a few ebay auctions ending this morning from items I posted last week.

Only one item sold.

Ebay isn't what it used to be thanks to the high shipping costs from the post office.

Even if you put an item for a dollar it can be over six dollars to ship depending on where the purchaser lives.

I think that keeps people from buying as they figure in the cost to ship and they don't think the item has the same value for their buck once shipping is added.

I can't blame them, I think of it the same way.

As it is someone has a start price and no bids yet and I will think that start price is already high. Once shipping is added the value of the item isn't there so I don't even put in a bid.

I have some items that are  breakable that I don't want to deal with shipping them as the box would have to be so much bigger to pad the item so it doesn't break, that it would cost a lot to ship.

I think I may try selling them on craigslist and if they sell than just meet the buyer in a busy place in daylight and bring someone with me to collect the money and give them the item.

Since ebay isn't as good anymore to sell stuff, I might just as well take some of it to Goodwill and be done with it.

I just turned the heater on to get the chill out. Later I put a load of wash going and that will be it for today of things to do.

We got rain last night into the morning hours after about a 3 week dry spell.  It got up to 86° yesterday and I was totally disgusted with the heat!  Tomorrow night, a low of 52 is expected.  What the hay?!?  Our weather is nuts!

I melt in humidity. I'm one of those people who has sweat pouring down his face when nobody else does.

Every March we get a three day heat wave in the 80s and then it goes back to 50s. But this year no heat wave just storm after storm after storm. I'm like others who are beginning to wonder what this summer will be like since our winter was so different and not seen since I was a kid.

It rained here this morning...I think it was over by another 10:30 or 11:00 thought.

It's pouring right now and I just got home before it started raining hard.

We are getting ready for a much needed storm now--been 'dry' for 3+ months!!!

The shipping is what keeps me away from ebay.

I looked at an item yesterday that was $2.99 which was a good price, but with shipping would have been over $8.00 and I said nope it's now not worth it.

The item that sold on ebay was in a smallish 12oz. box 7x4x3.5 and that was $6.55 as the least expensive way to mail it to the mid-west. What would a larger heavier box have cost these days I wonder.
