Chocolate Wontons Anyone?

"I don't have an oven at home so I look around for recipes that I can do for my son during weekends. He loves hanging around me as I cook, I might as well cook something he likes. Something that has chocolate in it! That is...if he doesn't consume the chocolates first."
- 1 egg
- 24-30 won ton wrappers
- 2 c cooking oil
- 1-1½ c semisweet chocolate chips OR nutella
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
Beat egg with water to make an egg wash. Brush the edges of a won ton wrapper lightly with the egg wash. Put 1 teaspoon of chocolate chips [or nutella] in the center of the won ton wrapper. Fold the wrapper to enclose the chocolate chips completely and press to seal the edges (the egg wash will help seal the won ton wrapper). Repeat with remaining wrappers and chocolate chips.
Fry the wrappers until golden brown on all sides. Remove from frying pan and transfer to a plate lined with paper towels so excess oil gets absorbed.
Let cool a few minutes then dust with powdered sugar.

Sounds really good to me...and I like nota's idea of adding some peanut butter, as well...one of my favorite combinations. |
Chocolate and peanut butter. I also like chocolate and coconut. Chocolate and orange gummy candies. Chocolate and caramel. Chocolate and lots of things! |
