May the 4th be with you!

We learned sometime last week - (Friday afternoon I think it was) that the shop where I work was going to have some major work done to it, like inside they are adding a second story to the quality assurance offices, they are adding two new training classrooms and they are also adding additional power to the area of the building that use's robotic's. something that concerned everyone was put to rest when we found out yesterday that the power for the whole building was going to be shut off for three days to allow the electrical portion of the upgrade to get done, no power to the building equals no work for the rest of the week. The concern in all departments was that we were all going to be short three days on next weeks paycheck, but the good news came when they announced that the three days we were going to be off WILL BE PART OF THE PAID JULY 4TH HOLIDAY! so my calender this week is looking mighty good right now.. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are all days off with pay plus our regular Saturday and Sunday off.. can you say FIVE DAY WEEKEND?? I haz a serious Happy right now.. Damn I love being employed. I think I'll have a cup of coffee and surf the web awhile. you know? seeing as how I don't have to work tomorrow.. or the day after.. or the day after that.. or the day-- ok never mind

Good news if the company is upgrading / expanding. And to give it as a holiday shows some class and concern on the part of the owners. |
