"this is a recipe i tried via taste of home ... i loved this vegetarian recipe except next time i am adding more veggies such as mushrooms, onion, and spinach ... but since this was my first time making it i made it like the recipe called for ....except instead of messing with the broiler i just cut up the peppers much easier"
Ingredients:
- 2 medium green, red, and yellow peppers ( I found using one of each was good this depends on how you cut the peppers thin or not )
- 1 package (25 ounces) frozen cheese ravioli
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (you can also use canola oil or vegetable oil )
- 1 teaspoon sugar ( I used Splenda )
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups meatless spaghetti sauce
- 4 ounces SLICED mozzarella cheese (in a package of 12 slices you will use 6 slices)
- notes: whenever i make a recipe i try to swap out some of the unhealthy for the more healtier food choicesthis is why you see splenda instead of sugar because it has the same consitantcy as sugar just healthier as well as canola oil which is the oil that is healthier for your heart the directions are as i made it if you want to see how taste of home makes it you can look it up at ... http://www.tasteofhome.com/Recipes/Roasted-Pepper-Ravioli-Bake
Directions:
1) cook ravioli according to package direction; drain. remove stems and seeds. finely chop peppers; in a large bowl, combine the peppers, oil, sugar, and salt.
2) spread half of the spaghetti sauce in a 13in. x 9in baking dish coated with cooking spray. (I used canola oil spray) layer with ravioli, pepper mixture and cheese. ( this part is much like when you put together Lasagna)
3) cover and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes; uncover and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes longer or until heated through
