To reduce your baby's risk of SIDS, he should sleep on his:

During their first week of life, the average baby...

And to think -- a 60+ great-grampa would know them all ????

lol i thought it would be funny its baby basics if you get them wrong I feel bad for the baby that person brought home

Well you DID get them wrong.

I actually think you were way out with this quiz! My babies unbilical cord fell off way before the time slot you gave it so please don't feel sorry for the two babies I brought home, they were well fed (without formula) and perfectly cared for. They have grown into happy well adjusted children and I'm very proud.

some people choose to breastfeed and bottle feed. there isnt anything wrong with that. I have MS and take injection Meds at times, and I cant breastfeed with in a 5 hr window so I bottle feed I found that soy formula is easier on a breastfeed babys stomach than cow-protien formula

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) says babies should be breastfed exclusively for the first 6 months. Beyond that, the AAP encourages breastfeeding until at least 12 months, and longer if both the mother and baby are willing.

Im part of my local latch leg. person. Yes if a women can breast feed for the first 12 months thats encouraged but if you have to suppliment anything for breastfeeding it should well duuhhh be FORMULA damn dont take the quiz to heart. But I personally bottle and breastfeed and dont have a problem. my youngest is 5 months and about 4 weeks ago started her on formula because I work, and my job doesnt have time to pump or a place to keep it cold. For mommys who can do it 24/7 thats great but for women who cants dont judge your not JESUS..

im a teen and i only missed one. now whats that tell you? they educate well these days. not they didnt back in the older days. no offense to anyone.

Wow people get so hasty over a simple quiz.  I enjoyed it. =)

lol i know right, well they should tell go yell at national pediatrics questions. Its printed in my text book for teaching breastfeeding classes im taking.

Actually I DID quote the  The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and there is a difference between EXCLUSIVELY and "SHOULD supplement"

ok the Key word everyone is SUPPLIMENT....

No the key word is everyone should.....................

When in fact if you are taking a class you would know you absolutely should not if you do not have to.

ok im editing it lol deal..

The problem with the quiz is that you said you should always suppliment a breast fed baby with formula, you need to rephraze it to if you need to suppliment a breast fed baby you should use formula. Breast feb baby's do not need formula if you don't have to. Also the umbilical cord on all three of my children fell of in the first two weeks not the first month.

i know I need to edit this sorry will do have to figure out how too.. thanks for the heads up I worded it wrong..

I don't agree with number 3.

I breastfed both of my children until they were two years old and I didn't supplement with anything. If they are breastfed then that is all they need. Why do they need formula too????

Same here... My children didn't need suppliments. The only time you would need suppliment for a baby is when the mom isn't producing sufficient quantity or has some kind of deficiency...

Yes I agree. I don't really understand where she was coming from with that question. It reads as though she is saying all breastfed babies need formula too.

All I know is we raised 4 healthy, now adult, kids...Smiley-char135 I reckon we did a few things right.....Smiley-chores026 {#basic-laugh.gif} I just love how everything gets rewritten every couple of years... And I'm purty sure fatoldguy didn't have the APP to help him raise his kids and now grandkids...

Confused01I'd be happier if they knew how to raise them more than how to feed them and swaddle and sleep them... That's a far bigger problem to me. The parents today are raising monsters... Smiley-whacky099Smiley-char088 They're too proud to listen to wisdom, or for that matter to at least embrace God... A change in how they conduct that operation would go a lot further... Of course, to many think babies are like cute kittens or puppies... Smiley-happy057they tend to have that attitude and forget that raising a baby is a lifelong committment... To many think they can Scared0018 and forget it's about family Smiley-talk040

Well said!!! I know I haven't done things by the book when it comes to perfect parenting, but as you say, that book keeps getting rewritten anyway!! My kids are 12 and 5 and they know they are loved, they know right from wrong and they are polite and kind children. I think that's all I can ask for really in this stage of their lives. Though I am feeling a little nervous about my daughter fast approaching her teens :/ We will get through it though with or without tears and tantrums :)

only got 2 right.. good thing because i'm only a teenager and have no desire for kids yet lol

i know nothing about taking care of kids, but i dont have any sooo...{#add_best_wishes.gif}
