Comment on the writers "Honest Christian"

Added: Friday, February 3rd 2012 at 7:23am by mewoldmanontheblock

One of my readers e-mailed me this.

Dear Brother Larry,
I would like to submit this response to the article "Honest Christian".  I feel this person needs it explained to him that Jesus is the only way to heaven and I would not want others that read our newsletter to think that his opinion is what we at Grace believe.  I appreciate any comments or recomendations you have.

To “the writer”
Dear friend, I pray that you receive this response to your article in the February newsletter in the spirit of love as it is given. I really enjoyed your article until it got to the last two paragraphs. You need to know that Jesus Christ is not one way to heaven, or even the best way to heaven…… He’s THE ONLY WAY TO HEAVEN!!!! In John 14:6, Jesus said to the disciple Thomas, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Unfortunately for us, we cannot do just what comes easily or comfortable to us where God is concerned. He, as creator, does not accept just anything we WANT to believe because it fits into our lifestyles. He has given us the choice to make decisions without His interference, if we desire to do so. As marvelously made as we are, without Him, we rarely make the best decisions, which is why we need God’s grace and forgiveness. We must conform our lives to what He says is right in His word. I maynotdrive your car, but I know if you don’t keep it on the road it will lead to destruction. God bless you! Linda Smith

Amen! {#basic-smile.gif} {#heart.gif}

Thank you RA

AMEN!!!

John 10: (Jesus speaking)

[27] My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

[28] And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

[29] My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

[30] I and my Father are one.

As it is our choice to commit to be one with them.....according to their commands and way and design, not mans.

Praise the LORD. {#floating.gif}

Thank you Rach. Well said

U R Welcome .... thanks!

God Bless you.

Lemmie check: Are y'all praying earnestly for your leaders (chide/chide), and your future leaders ? ? ?

It is hard for me to pray for O to be 'saved', but I have been obedient and done that a couple times.

I believe that God is in control and He allowed "O" to get to be pres. for a reason. Maybe to fullfill profit or just another link is His plan. Yes, I pray for God to give him the wisdon, strenght and courage to follow God's guidance.

Couple things...

When people say God is in control...I think it is dangerous...for he certainly is not in control of all the free-willed people he created, and from that fact comes much of the horror we experience in politics, government, Church, business, etc. --That God is ultimately in control is not helpful in many many everyday things. But, still, he can cause people to be blind and it is Biblical that he chooses the leaders (for his purposes, like judgments, etc.)

I wrote the following for a comment to a Canada Free Press Article:

One of the reasons, probably the biggest reason that America is headed for the tank is because of sin. These pregnancy and birth issues as a group is the most awful sin ongoing in the USA; it should have been stopped long ago. One needs to ask and get an an answer: Where have been the Christians?  Well, they obviously have not been cooperating with the prayers of Jesus in the Good News of John in which he prayed for their unity....

Bible tells us that God chooses the leaders. Proof is all history of Israel/Jews where, when they were righteous everything was fine, and when they were immoral/dishonest/unrighteous, finally their whole country and all its people suffered when they did not turn from their wicked ways; even today they are still under one of those judgments, by the way.

I think that God has warned The USA and its electorate masterfully, increasingly more and more noticeably, by the outcomes of recent elections: 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010. Now, this period between 2010 and 2012 --is it more warning just before our complete undoing? I think so; if Obama is re-elected the USA will have passed the tipping point from whence it shall not recover. What is the solution?

There are some definite commands of God to be reckoned with --like some of the IF's.

IIChronicles 7: 14 "IF My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and IF they will pray and seek My face, and IF they will turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin(s) and heal their land." (their "land" was everything to them)

America, was founded on Godly principles and now very far from many of them.Americans need to humble themselves before God, reverse their sins, repent and beg God's forgiveness.

Only then will God forgive them and heal their land --their everything.

I agree with all that. In my HO all this is to warn us that the end is near.

IMO ...I think it is first to get us to repent and ask forgiveness.

End times are a foregone conclusion from many other 'signs' that are active/going on...

I will say "Amen" to that. Have a great day and may God bless us all

oldman - Exactly - God is in control.  He provided each their personal choice, and has provided PLACES, PUNISHMENTS, CORRECTIONS, BLESSINGS for the destiny of each, per (dependent upon), their own personal choices!

I agree, there is No other way to heaven, but through Jesus. :)

Thank you Allie

Will the folks who have not heard of Jesus yet be thrown in hell fire?

-L

God is just.  All will have the opportunity to hear, and those who do not reject Him will be with Him, in His Kingdom, all the rest will be removed to a place provided for those who rejected Him.

Thank you Rachel4jc

{#basic-smile.gif}

But you avoided the question entirely by stating that "All will have the opportunity to hear". My question was based on the fact that many aboriginee villages amongst other distant places have not heard anything about this jesus figure.

Based on this fact, will these people go to hell or heaven.

-L

-L ... God is JUST.  I do not know who has NOT heard of HIM.

There missionaries on every continent going into small remote villages teaching of Our Savior..........it will be the listeners choice to believe.....or not.

If by some remote chance someone does not hear, I do not concern myself or ponder where they will end up.........God is JUST.  {#basic-smile.gif}

Stating it, doesn't make it real. An "eternal hell fire" for a limited crime seems a tad harsh.

I always seem to fear people who speak for god, it's not that they know something I don't. It's their delusion which carries them forward, God's chosen? Spokesman of hate?

Your choice.

-L

-L - You hope to extract evidence and proof to satisfy yourself.

BUT...Because you choose to not open your eyes to what has been created and provided for you and humble yourself in thanksgiving, you remove the opportunity for you to understand.

You are incorrect.  People who believe, do know something you do not know.  They are ENTITLED to the understanding; You are not.

What are these incomplete thoughts of questions you pose? ...

God's chosen?...

Who is this "spokesman of hate"....?

"An "eternal hell fire" for a limited crime seems a tad harsh."

-L  What do you think that means ?  Can you explain a visual or the feeling one would experience in your perspective?

White noise. That's all that you've written, pure white noise.

Claims, accusations and suprenatural statements mean absolutely nothing to me. you can sit here and carry on further stating how Jesus touched you, how you "know" the bible is correct because it gives you a warm, fuzszy feeling. However this has absolutely no significance on what reality states.

You said "People who believe, do something you do not know. They are "Entitled" to the understanding, you are not".

So, desert barbarians and the unsophisticated public are "entitled" to believe in delusion. Yet, the most prominent scientists, philosophers and those who actually have knowledge are not "entitled". Way to popularise stupidity in people +1.

Incomplete thoughts:

"God's chosen"
"Spokesman of hate"

Now, i didn't mean to go into the fantasy land of "who are god's chosen". It wasn't my attention to bring about a fictional question like that, what I meant by my statement however was.

Now, you have commented below me but I'll answer it within this comment:-

You asked what does it mean for an eternal hell fire punishment for sinners. what a strange question, you're asking me to describe a concept your own book documents? Where sulphur burns and the fire/brimstone burns forever and ever? That one right?

I don't need to imagine a visual or feeling of it. That would be ridiculous. Just as I don't need you to "imagine" what it's like to be hit by Thor's hammer to the face and say you can't reject it because you can't feel it or tell what it is.

Why that would just be a retardation of logic.

Don't ask me these white noise questions. Answer me, why does this white noise makes sense? If it's something personal, then why not keep it personal. Why do you have to spew the evil doctrine of hell to any non-believers and expect not to be publicically called out on it.

Some theists often go under the guise that wordly humiliation is not as good as praise from god. I would implore you to reconsider.

-L

-L  Now you make me chuckle.

I wasn't asking you to explain what my Bible says.........how silly.

I was asking you to explain what YOU said and meant by it....

There is nothing in my Bible that says " eternal hell fire ", so I can only presume you somewhere grabbed bits and pieces of text, lumped them together as scripture and expected someone to defend it or whatever.

White noise........cute ploy.  Youinterject a sound as being relevant in a discussion, then want me to explain why the sound makes sense....LOL

"Some theists often go under the guise that wordly humiliation is not as good as praise from god. I would implore you to reconsider."-L

Now you really are being silly.  Why would I need to "reconsider", what some unknown theists view?......WHEN I never claimed to consider their view in the first place.........

You are a liberal aren't you?  If not, you certainly play the same nonsensical games.

L -You said "People who believe, do something you do not know. They are "Entitled" to the understanding, you are not".

So, desert barbarians and the unsophisticated public are "entitled" to believe in delusion. Yet, the most prominent scientists, philosophers and those who actually have knowledge are not "entitled". Way to popularise stupidity in people +1.

_____

-L  I was very specific.  YOU were the specific person.  What does that have to do with some unknown people mentioned  by their behavior and profession?

Rach, you can't explain anything to someone that don't listen or try to understand, He is set in his unbelief and too closed minded to understand. All he hears is noises. I was at a  nursing home today for the mentally ill, and these people had more understanding than crucify. check his name. he lives to crucify. I don't care what we say he won't listen. I won't even answer him any more.

Oh my god you're a conservative? here I thought you were a different type of loony.

White noise=Metaphor for religious babble professed as fact.

So Matthew 25:41 - 25:46 isn't speaking about eternal punishment?

What a ridiculous statement to make "There is nothing in my bible that says "eternal hell fire". Just to publically humiliate you quickly, 25:41 states

" “Then he will say 41  to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you accursed, into the eternal fire"

the word "eternal hell fire" is used, word for word. If your bible doesn't have it, stop picking books from bins.

Intelligence, logic and education are missing in your words and answers. I'd suggest re-reading the book you so boldly defend.

-L

What a blank and meaningless statement to make. Atleast when I said your answer lacked intelligence, logic and any form of education. I pointed out the verse you blankly assumed never existed.

Proof, evidence is missing in your entire belief system. I'm not surprised you would resort to just spewing shit.

-L

It kind of makes sense that you were in a nursing home for the mentally ill. I'm sure you all understand each other very well.

Have fun being deluded <3

-L

crucify: "eternal hell fire".

Rachel: "There is nothing in my bible that says "eternal hell fire".

Rachel's Bible : Mathew 25: [41] Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

Crucify; the word "eternal hell fire" is used, word for word.

Rachel: LOL, WRONG CRUCIFY!

Crucify:  White noise=Metaphor for religious babble professed as fact.

Webster:

Definition of WHITE NOISE 1 a : a heterogeneous mixture of sound waves extending over a wide frequency range — b : a constant background noise; especially : one that drowns out other sounds Rachel;  Don't be mad because I refuse to believe you over the exact text of the Bible, or a notable dictionary.  While you have determined intelligence, logic and education are missing in MY words, I would suggest FACTS are missing from yours.  {#basic-smile.gif}

Your frustration is of your own doing........not mine.

You are the one who keeps claiming that the word "HELL" that you used specifically appears in Matthew 25:41....and it clearly doesn't.

You are the one who said, you thought:

"An "eternal hell fire" for a limited crime seems a tad harsh."

I simply asked you:

-L  What do you think that means ?  Can you explain a visual or the feeling one would experience in your perspective?

And....apparently you were incapable of answering the simple question...since you didn't answer it.

Where is your sense of logic, blathering  nonsense instead of disclosing your intelligent response for which you are purporting to be so informed?

Oh my god...........

_______

Says the Atheist....LOL

Thanks for addressing this issue. Jesus said a lot of things that can be interpreted in many ways. I don't believe that someone who never heard of Jesus, but lives by the principle of loving others will be doomed to hell. The Jesus I know is a very compassionate.

Hi Writer. The comments didnt address the objection that the original, which is "there is only wat to get to heaven,, and that is through Jesus Christ. Thank you for the comment. I enjoy reading your post.

Thank you.
