Winter Coat

I saw this beautiful coyote in the neighbor's yard. He has his winter coat on.. all thick and warm.

It was a little too dark for photos but here he is in all his winter glory. I do wish he would have turned around and looked at me but he and the cardinal must be in kahoots. :)

Nice picture!!  I see some green too.  It's going to be a while before I see any green and it certainly won't be in my wallet.

Just a thought. If he had a cocked ear, he would remind me of Willy.

Have a good day.

Yes, lots of plants stay green all year in the desert. Funny you should mention Willy looking like the coyote. When we first got him the vet called him "coyote dog" Of course he is not part coyote, he is way too friendly for that. But he does kind of look like one. Thanks for stopping in and for your comment. Have a great day. I will try to post some green things for you.

I didn't realise that they came so close to your houses. Beautiful creature, even in the dark. Nature in one of her finer moments.

They walk around the neighborhood and come up into yards but when ever they see people they take off. I have not seen many lately. They don't like getting to close to people, which is good because I don't like them getting to close to me.:) He was pretty though, in his thick winter coat. Thanks for stopping in and for your comment. Have a great day

Beautiful and is a very close shot. It is a wonder that he didn't run away before you got his picture! Thanks.

So glad you enjoyed him... I was really not that close. I used the zoom feature on my little camera. He didn't stay long at all. Thanks for stopping in and for your comment. Have a good day

Love the fluffy winter coat. Wonder if the Wolf Moon brought him closer to the house. It sure is bright and beautiful.

They look so pretty in the winter when their coats are full. I haven't seen many lately. If I see them it is near sunrise. I didn't know there was a wolf moon but hey maybe he was waiting for it to stop in at the neighbors. :) Thanks for your visit and comment. Now I have to go look up wolf moon. :) Have a great day

Margar: anacoana  posted a blog on the Wolf Moon several days ago. I shot several pics from the front and back of my house at different hours  but haven't posted them here. The pics were not as good as the actual sighting.

Oh thanks, I will have to go look that one up. Wonder how I missed it. I will have to keep my eyes open for when you post the photos.

Wow! When I was out there (In Vail, AZ as well), I didn't see a full coat on one single coyote. Beuatiful sight, even though he didn't turn his head towards you.

They only get this pretty full coat in the winter, come spring they look all ragged as it falls out and by summer they look much thinner. So glad you enjoyed the photo. He is beautiful. Thanks for your visit and nice comment. Have a great day
