Soring Red-tailed Hawk
While taking photos of the planes in my last post, I saw this guy soaring around.
He is an awsomely cool red-tailed hawk.
When looking the up on wikipedia for the link above I found...
I think this photo turned out the best. I love the way all his feathers show up.

OH wow, to see them is awesome, to capture one in flight on "film"........ To be close to a Hawk, or an Eagle in flight is one of the most awesome experiences in living in the SW. |
Thank you so much, I had a wonderful time taking them and watching the hawk. Thanks for your visit and lovely complement. Have a great day. |
I love the last one, too. You could almost give wing anatomy lessons based on that photo! Great job. |
Thank you SimplyTrace, it is my favorite. Glad you enjoyed the photos. Thanks so very much for stopping by and leaving such a lovely complement. Have a wonderful evening. |
I love these photos |
Truly amazing photos of a red tailed hawk! I've never seen one this close up and so detailed. We have red tailed hawks in northern California but they are always soaring very high in the sky. The sunlight shines through the tail feathers. |
Thanks so very much Eleisia http://californiabirdwatching.wordpress.com so glad you enjoyed the photo. I am lucky to live where I do. If I recall correctly these photos were taken with the canon rebel and sigma "bigma" lens. Thanks for your comment. |
