Soring Red-tailed Hawk

Added: Sunday, March 8th 2009 at 10:41am by Margar3t

While taking photos of the planes in my last post, I saw this guy soaring around.

He is an awsomely cool  red-tailed hawk.

When looking the up on wikipedia for the link above I found...

The Red-tailed Hawk is generally non-aggressive toward people and toward other birds. It is commonly harassed by crows, magpies, owls, other hawks, and even songbirds over territorial disputes, though it is generally not injured. When threatened by a human intruder, a Red-tailed Hawk will generally flee rather than defend its nest.

I think this photo turned out the best. I love the way all his feathers show up.

Simply beautiful. I live out in the country and I love watching the hawks in flight. I even see them alot on power poles watching the fields. They are beautiful birds.

I agree PattyinAlabama, they are just so beautiful. Looks like we are both lucky enough to live in place were we get to see hawks. Thanks so much for visiting and for your nice comment. Have a great day.

OH wow, to see them is awesome, to capture one in flight on "film"........

To be close to a Hawk, or an Eagle in flight is one of the most awesome experiences in living in the SW.

Thank you anacoana, I was lucky enough to be outside trying to get a photo of the planes, as I was watching them fly off, I saw the hawk in flight behind a tree. Lucky for me he came overhead trying to catch a thermal. They are just so awesome looking. I love the pattern on their wings as they sore above. Thanks for taking some time to stop by and comment. Have a wonderful day.
