Favorite Color Meme - I've been tagged!
MeNMisterSlade tagged me for this one. I've copied and pasted the explanation, instructions and the questions here, for others to use. Since SimplyTrace suggested I do a pictorial rendition... my post will be a little different.

Everyone has at some point been asked, "What's your favorite color?" Some can answer that easily, and straight away. Some of us, though, just look at the one asking with utter confusion. Favorite color? In reference to what? So, here's a tag game that answers that very question, in all its radiant facets. Well, maybe not all, but several.
What's your favorite color in...
General: Blue...Like the sky. Blue always seems so open, clean, cooling and free.
Clothing: I usually wear black, everything goes with black but I do love the look of faded blue jeans.
Flowers: Wow, this is a hard one... I guess my favorite flowers are these. The combination of purple and yellow always look so sunny and happy.
Gemstones: I would have to go with turquoise here... I also like aquamarine and amber
Vehicles: White, it is cooler than any of the other colors and looks clean longer
Metal/Jewelry: Silver or white gold. I know this is not either but I love this photo... please don't litter, it was litter, we found it by the side of the road. It must have been there a long time, look at the opening.... the old pull top.
Furniture: Red, I like the warm of reds and browns with maybe some green thrown in.
Bedding: White, there is nothing like the look and feel of clean white battenburg lace sheets.
House Paint: Can you get house paint in this color? :) I have no idea what color it would be but I love the look of it. I am sure it would turn out gray looking in paint, it would need all the different shades to be beautiful... something that does not work out well with paint.
Hair: Natural, be it brown, black, blond, red or white.
Eyes: No preference on eyes as long as they are honest, intense, open to what is out there and full of loving life.
Drinks: Dark, deep colors, hot chocolate, rich dark coffee, red wine. It is more about the flavor than the color.
Towels: Green, misty green, dark green. I do wonder.. why towels?
Pets/Animals: Here I guess I would say mixed with a bit of red. This is Willy the dog, red and black with cream thrown in. My favorite cat Fred was a red tabby.
I have more photos left... but no more questions, guess I will have to save them for another time.

I seem to find the sky amazingly interesting especailly when there are clouds. I can't help but stop when the sky is on fire with a brilliant sunset. Thank you so much MeNMisterSlade. I am glad you enjoyed it... I went through jillions of photos finding colors. Had I had more time, I might have taken photos coffee and such but in a way I think this was more fun. Sorry about the spider photo but it is really one of my favorite photo. There is a story behind it. We had spent the entire night in the ER with my daughter who was pregnant at the time, her blood pressure had been going nuts throughout her pregnancy, she was having contractions and the night was just awful. My husband (who I was just dating at the time) spent the entire night there too... we were sitting in hard plastic chairs, in the room with my daughter all awful nignt long... sleep deprived and exhausted the next morning, the hospital finally got my daughter's BP and contractions under control. They were going to release her and she and the baby were safe for now. My then future husband and I went out to the hospital parking lot to get some air and stretch our legs. We ended up sitting on a curb, under a tree. We sat there talking and trying to stop worrying when I looked down on my pant leg and saw the tiny jumping spider. Now most people don't like spiders but for some reason I think jumping spiders are cute. They actually look up at you like a tiny eight legged dog, they cock their heads to the side and seem very inquisitive. At that moment, we decided to try to photograph the spider with the camera I keep in my purse. It was the first moment in the last 24 hours I had thought about anything other than my daughter and future granddaughter... it was like a mini vacation from worry. Every time I see that photo, I think of that morning and how I felt. The air was cool and clean and the morning sun was coming up and the day was new... and everyone was OK. Funny how a silly photo of a spider can bring back such a feeling of joy and relief in me. Thanks for your visit and for such a nice comment, and thanks for tagging me... it was fun. Now see, that story makes the spider okay for me. Im glad to hear everything worked out for your daughter and baby. I went through the same thing with my oldest daughter when she had my grand daughter. Her BP was all over the place and I had to go to Michigan the last week or two of her pregnancy as she was put on strict bed rest. Sure worries the heck out of a Mom!

Yes, I agree. I am glad everything turned out well for you all too. Glad you don't mind the spider so much anymore. If you ever get to the point and get near a tiny jumping spider, just watch them. They don't act like bugs at all. They act like tiny little animals, all looking around with their little spider heads. They look nothing like a regular spider. If you can get past the fact they they are a spider. LOL Have a good one! |

I have other posts with raptors (hawks) I think they are under my birds tag.. since they don't have a tag for hawk or raptors. quarkandgenes is wonderful, we used to correspond a lot when he was getting his book ready, a very intelligent person! If you want to borrow my photos for fun that is fine... if you want to sell them then you have to share the money with me.:) If you post them somewhere else it would be cool if you put a link to my blog.. if that is not possible oh well. Oh no...lol....I wouldnt sell them...I just love collecting beautiful photos of raptors for my personal folder. I wouldnt use them anywhere but if I do, I will definitely put a link to your blog. I have a flickr site too but I havent used it for such a long time I dont know if it is even still active. You're right about quarksandgenes...he is very intelligent and I love chatting with him......and no, he's not the one who didnt take to being tagged....lol....just thought I'd let you know. You might want to have a guess who....tell me and I'll let you know if you are right....lol |

LOL, I didn't think it was quarkandgenes. I would never guess here... I can imagaine who it is. I don't need to know. I still think it is funny you tagged him. :) Still makes me laugh. Very cool to look through all the bird photos. |

You can email me...... does his name start with "J" ? have fun looking at the birds! Also do a search on flickr for "bigma' then click most interesting.... amazing close-ups. The "bigma" is a nick name for a certain camera lens. It is an affordable super zoom lens. Hope you can find the photos of eagles I did when I searched, they were amazing. 2 eagles going ofter a duck and the eagles crash into each other.. just amazing. Hope your weekend it wonderful too. |

Absolutely delightful! Thank you! I *KNEW* you would take this and have fun with it, and that the result would be stunning. Nor was I mistaken!
Why towels? Well...it's something almost everyone has, and almost everyone buys (so makes a conscious decision about, color-wise), and because I caught myself choosing one particular colored towel over another, equally clean and equally available towel.
I like blue. Once upon a time, it was a favorite. These days I don't notice blue quite so much, but there is one particular sky that stops me in my tracks, every time. The shade is close to your picture above, and perhaps that's as close as a camera gets to capturing it. It seems this sky is usually mid to late morning, and I notice it most commonly in winter (perhaps because that's when I need to notice it?). There will be few if any clouds, and that blue is just...electric.
No idea why I threw that in there. The sky now is the soft, dusty blue of summer afternoons, so it wasn't that. But regardless, as always I love what you've posted.
