Coyote
The other morning while sitting at the table we looked out the window to see Mr. Coyote. He came walking out of the brush on the left.
Started up the driveway. He seemed to be looking up at us, looking at him through the window but... actually I think he was eyeing the quail milling around the finch feeder.
Either the quail took off or he decided going close to the house was a bad idea.
He spent some time sniffing around the driveway.
Then took off... We are not sure how he got in because the gait is closed but I think he just jumped the fence.
After he walked off we didn't see him again. I think he walked across the property and jumped the fence because we could hear dogs barking down the street.
It was a cool site and as you can see Mr. Coyote looks pretty well fed.

suddenly, i thought of wile e. coyote and tempted to ask where roadrunner might be. anyway, nice shots. |
The closest I can come to answer your question is my post... It is from the day a roadrunner visited the house. :) Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Have a great day! |
Well, I think they are DARN clear! I couldn't imagine me getting such close and clear full shots like that! |
Thanks donnamg, I would not want to get any closer but had I taken the photo not through the window glass it would have been a bit crisper. Still not bad for what it is. Have a great day. |
I agree mmmhollywould, though people have told me their pets have been taken by coyotes, I am not too worried about it because there are so many birds and rabbits around I think the coyotes are pretty well fed here. I did once hear of a coyote years ago with a white cat in his mouth... the cat escaped due to people screaming and scaring the beejebers out of the coyote. The cat ran up a tree and stayed up there for 3 days. It was fine and finally went home. If you want to see a cool coyote blog check out this one. |

Seeing these pics have put me closer to a coyote than I've ever been. Except for some rare, brief glances of coyotes at a distance or off by the side of the road, I can't say that I've ever seen one any closer than in your pics and never really looked at one so head on and in the eyes before. These really are great photos.
