
Broiled Chicken Livers

"A tender alternative to a gizzard, the chicken liver is made with real bacon and water chestnuts then cooked as an appetizer."
Servings: 20 broiled livers
Ingredients:
- ½ lb. chicken livers
- melted margarine
- garlic salt or powder
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 1 tsp. thyme
- 10 pieces of bacon
- 2 tsps. soy sauce
- 5 water chestnuts
- toothpicks
Directions:
1. Slice the bacon strips in half and water chestnuts in fours.
2. Marinate the sliced bacon strips and water chestnuts in soy sauce.
3. Slice the chicken livers into small pieces.
4. Wrap the chicken livers and water chestnuts with the sliced bacon strips. Secure with a toothpick. Place livers on shallow baking dish. Brush with melted margarine. Sprinkle with garlic salt, pepper and thyme.
5. Broil until done, turning once, about 5 minutes.
