Today in the world of sports. Featuring: Tim Tebow, playoff football and London 2012.
I will start this post how I start many of my posts, which is create the atmosphere of which I am/was experiencing. I again got very little sleep today due to circumstances not at all unwelcome. At 1430 I was dead tired and only 2 hours from Playoff football. Something I wait for all week. So against maybe better or not so better judgement I took a nap knowing full well I was gonna be dead when I woke up. So I set my alarm for 1630 to watch the first playoff game of the weekend which featured the New Orleans Saints @ the San Francisco 49ers. I turned on the TV at 1631 and was pleasantly surprised with what I saw.
It was the marathon from Dallas which determined what runners were going to advance to the US Olympic team. The Olympics excite me. Ever since I can remember my family would sit down every night and watch as much of Olympics as we possibly could. When I heard the trials were on last week I had gotten excited. So like I said I was pleasantly surprised to have tuned in just as Meb Keflezighi was coming down the chute. Waving an American flag with aspirations of London running thru his mind he crossed the finish line with 2 hours 9 minutes and 8 seconds, a time just short of a trials record. He watched eagerly as his colleagues Ryan Hall and Abdi Abdirahman crossed the line second and third respectively to also qualify for a spot at arguably 2012's worlds largest stage.

Following them were the female qualifiers who spotlighted Shalane Flanagan who not only won but also captured the Trials record by coming in with a time of 2 hours 25 minutes and 38 seconds. Davila and Groucher round off the list of Olympic medal hopefuls.
I sat mezmorized at the only event that really brings the wrold together as one. But as I sat, I forgot the real reason I even woke up. NFL Playoffs. Yes the Olympics makes me forget about the NFL.
So I tune in a few minutes late to the game, and what a game it was. I figured the Saints fire power was going to be bad news for the 49ers defense. The 49ers defense was impressive today holding NO to 32 points. 32 points is a lot of points for a lot of teams but the Saints are known for putting up number into the 40's. What really impressed me was the 49ers offense as they put up 36 points to win the game and advance to the NFC championship game. The 49ers aren't known for their offense but the Saints couldn't find an answer for TE Vernon Davis.
The late game featured the Denver Broncos @ the New England Patriots. I really don't want to see the Patriots advance to far, but I hate the Broncos. The Patriots easilt took care of the Broncos much to my delight. But heres where my informative post turns editorial.
Tim Tebow AKA Tim Teblows. I HATE Tim Teblow. Ever since he came on the scene hes been all the talk and unrightfully so. I wont argue that he has played well throughout the season and is partially responsible for the Broncos making the playoffs. However I am so sick of all these Teblow fans singing his praises saying he turned the team around single handily. So I guess their success had nothing to do with Denvers outstanding Defense and 30 year old RB Willis McGahee playing better than he ever has in his career. What irks me further is this faith thing that is sweeping the nation all because of Teblows. BTW I will not use his proper last name thru the remainder of the post so don't look for it. Most of you know I'm Agnostic and for those of you who didn't know you are now informed. I want to point out I have no issue with players being religious however I do find it preposterous that Teblows success is because of his faith. I have newsflash for youChristians, God doesn't much care about football. The Bible says ask and thou shall receive. Well I'm 100% sure the Broncos prayed for a win today and oh they didn't get it. People all over the world prayed for their teams to win today and half of the people who prayed didn't receive.
Dear Mr. Teblows;
You're success is not because God said you will be successful because of you're faith. It is because you have good players and great coaches who surround you, which BTW not all of them have your religious views and yet they enjoy the same success.
P.S. I saw you crying on TV today. Bring back memories?
Sincerely not impressed, Jaycee

It's a giant injustice to the Patriots for them to play like they did just to be over shadowed by Teblows. QB Tom Bradey threw for 6 TD's which set a post-season record. TE Rob Gronkowski tied a post-season TD record, with 3 TD catches. The Patriots played liek they invented the game and won by a score of 45-10, yet we still talk about Teblow and all of his 136 yards on 9 of 26 completions.
I want to post a video for you which is purely for your entertainment. Take from it what you will but I LOLd. A lot. It makes the point that Teblows isn't the only one on the team and he is not as great as everyone thinx.

In a quick closing comment I want to say that I believe the Packers will meet the Patriots in the Super Bowl. Enjoy your day everyone :).

Thats good because I didn't want to pull out the Fred and Ethel Mertz and maybe even the Jaycee and Jessica. |
LOl imagine that Jc:) the words just roll off your fingers like they water! I see it because you love, I think sports are bigger than you? |
Well I am not sports enthusiast like yourself but you do make it interesting for even me to read, about the only sports I follow are Cowboys and Super Bowl. |
Maybe that's why u have so much passion, excitement and love for it. Give me break, lol...I am not a sport freak. |
But you said....."Tim Tebow AKA Tim Teblows. I HATE Tim Teblow." Whatever. He and his team went home and I'm looking forward to the games today...I love the playoffs. |
I do hate him thru no fault really of his own other than hes a bad QB, and wrong. I'm about to go to the gas station for an AMP to get ready for the gamez. |
It sorta is cause Im sick of a mediocre QB getting undeserved praise even over Dan Orlovsky! which BTW everyone knows who Teblows is. How many people know who Dan Orlovski is. |
Don't sell everyone short J. A lot of us know who Orlovsky is....and the Colts did well using him. But he didn't get them to the playoffs. Such is life in the NFL. Losers and Winners.... |
I'm liken the Ravens too but wouldn't put my money on either team...its the playoffs and anything can happen. my point is....its a team sport. its not ALL on a quarterback. |
That was also my point, if you go back up and read it, The Defense Willis McGahee and Praytor all have been Waaaaaayyy more valuable than Teblows. |
I was a big fan of the Yates stable. Robert Yates that is. The days of Dale Jarrett and Ernie Irvin :) Remember I'm from Wisconsin, my team is on now! |
