Tufty’s Mother and Father Discuss His Problem

Mother Titmouse chirped to Father, "George, the boots my mother recommended didn't work for Tufty. What can we do? I want him to be able to eat without hurting his toes?

Thoughtfully resting his chin on his wing, Father chirped back to Mother, "Ask gr..gr..grandmother chi...chi....chickadee ...DEE...dee..dee. She is known to be wise and sh....sh..she eats s..s..seeds after pecking off their hulls just li..li..like we do.” Father stutters, but don't laugh, he’s just a bit different too. His name, George VI, is different too. But it’s not because he stutters. See, when he was born his mother hatched ten eggs; four girls and six boys. She said she could never remember ten different names so she named the girls Georgia 1, 2, 3 and 4; and the boys George I, II, III, IV, V and VI. That way she only had to remember one boy’s name and one girl’s name.

“That’s a good idea, George,” Chirped Mother Titmouse.

You can get all of Tufty's stories from his book. See https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Tufty+the+cross-eyed+titmouse

Glad you enjoyed it.

Sounds fun. I'll read a few more, for sure.
