Yeah, ideally if communism worked and we could all just cooperate without having a single dictator usurp all the power then I think he might have gone with that one. He was all about loving cooperation and sharing. You know, feeding the hungry and sheltering the homeless and all that "socialism" and "free hand outs" bullshit that the republicans keep screaming about. You'd think that a party that so associates with Jesus would actually have a damn clue of what he said. 

And then I don't want to start anything but didn't he say no to MM and just hung out with the boys??? There was a play called "Corpus Christi" by Terrace McNally that approached the theory that JC was gay--now we all now Republicans aren't!!!

Yeah I feel like the issue of wealth (ie poor vs. rich, fairnes, sharing, caring for the poor, things like that) would be a huge factor in him being a democrat.

I like your approach nobull, lets all try to think independently. And in that vein I agree that the whole issue involving the poor is very complicated and can be a self-perpetuating cycle when they become dependent on government handouts and such. I don't know everything about your personal ideology but something a lot of left wingers find disagreeable in republican politics is a seeming neglect and uncaring for those who need help (the poor, sick, etc) cloaked in a fear based argument about socialism and communism. This is where the comments about "heartless conservative" or "<insert insult> liberal" comes in. The system definately needs reform from both sides of the aisle. There are people that can't survive without social welfare and healthcare and we cannot, as a civilized race of human beings, take that away for a purely self-serving capitalist system. At the same time though a system that is too socialist will collapse eventually under the weight of its social programs. The argument, unfortunately, is muddied by misinformation and dumb emotional reactiveness. If we could all just chill out for a moment and think independently without gobbling up propaganda from the sacred TV box this whole process would be a lot simpler and a make a lot more sense to all of us.
