We are being invaded! Are you?

One morning you wake up and everywhere you look there are scooters. They are on the corner, laying down on neighbor's lawns, blocking sidewalks, etc. And to think just 'yesterday' they were used as toys for kids!

With the scooters came laws which no one seems to be observing such as only 1 person on a scooter at a time, have to be over 18 to use one, not to be used in the streets, etc.

Now these are different than the ones we had to propel with one foot pushing us along and go a bit faster.

They aren't really inexpensive but it does cut down on car traffic--or does it?

As with anything 'new' there are groups for and against it--looking forward to seeing who 'wins'.

They have become a problem in the big cities around here also. Being left everywhere and people think they can ride them as they please since they are stupid and don't think if a car hits them, it's not the people in the car that will have a broken body.

I've heard about those too! LOL. No scooters around here. Gravel roads wouldn't be easy for them.

But indeed people are getting hurt!

Automobiles and their drivers are far more dangerous than assault rifles. There are better alternatives to people driving cars to pay cash for a pack of ciggies at the market - and those alternatives will keep getting better. There will again come a day when more people are riding horses than driving their cars.

I can't wait until I am really elderly and can get one of those mobility scooters and hold all the traffic up!! I want someone to make an invention that blocks mobile signals in cars when the engine turns on so that no one can text or make calls while driving.

It's a cunning plan to cull the daft and incompetent.  I wish I could get hold of one.
