There have been cases here in North Carolina of people who died on death row, some where put to death. A recent SBI report said that those who were sentenced were inccocent, meany they did no do first degree murder. shoty Proscuretal misconduct was behind those death sentence in the SBI report.

Not only are our prisons full of people who are innocent, but just think about how many are on death row, or as shown just after 11pm last night, are put to death while great questions of their guilt or innocence remains in question. That's only one reason why the death penalty should be abolished in our country...one of the few countries on earth who still inject he ultimate penalty on citizens.

We all know that money buys justice. And so also the death penalty is unjustly injected on minorities and the poor who can't afford the lawyers like Casey Anthony or OJSimpson were provided with.

It's sickening and an embarassment to our country, in my opinion.

I agree with you 100%

I against the death penalty. It's barbaric!

I agree with you completely. America calls itself a "civilized" country, but if we allow murder - even sentencing someone convicted of homicide to death - to be considered acceptable, then that only leads me to wonder what reasons America believes to be valid in deciding whether or not our society has really reached true civilization.

Great poll, Funguy! It would be quite beneficial, I think, if more people really considered that question that you asked.
