1. 40% of all workers in L. A. County ( L. A. County has 10.2 million people) are working for cash and not paying taxes. This is because they are predominantly illegal immigrants working without a green card.
2. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.
3. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens.
4. Over 2/3 of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal, whose births were paid for by taxpayers.
5. Nearly 35% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally.
6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in Garages.
7. The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most likely illegal aliens from south of the border.
8. Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.
9. 21 radio stations in L. A. are Spanish speaking.
10. In L. A. County 5.1 million people speak English, 3.9 million speak Spanish.

There must be term limits! There are! It's called the ballot box. And I am for one term reps...since they all think they are hired to create legislation...when their DUTY is to protect and preserve ALL CITIZENS RIGHTS, not merely the ones that save their self appointed royal status. |

I'm sorry FedUpToHere, but you were unfortunate with this post in my opinion. If immigrants came, it's because they were looking for a better life than they could have in their own country. Have you ever thought what it would be like if you were out of job and had a family to support and no money whatsoever or no prospect of it? I'm sure if you had an opportunity to go abroad, you would too! You have no idea what those people go through in order to get into your country, you have no idea how hard it is to cross the border and how much they suffer being away from their family or to run away from the police. I don't know either because I was never illegal, but I have lived abroad, being away from my loved ones. I have friends who live illegaly and I do know how much they wanted to be able to visit their relatives and family, at least once. I know they suffer a lot! I do know that just now Americans are starting to feel a little of what is like to live in a developing country and be out of jobs. So, instability is at your door, it'll not be long to see many americans become immigrants too. I already see a lot of them coming down here. I'm sorry, but as a Brazilian this post really offended me! From my point of view, the immigrants helped your economy even though they are not paying taxes. |

I understand all of what you are saying, Sinelia1. I have nothing at all against legal immigration. So, please understand me, too. I also understand the damage of illegal immigration. America is not unique in their immigration laws; almost no country allows foreigners to cross their borders without permission. There are good reasons countries have such laws. That is what is illegal. That is what this blog post is about...the damage done by illegal immigration. I hope that we are beginning to understand each other's definitions on this subject...

Yes, the legal immigrants are valuable. In fact all of the USA is the result of immigration! And, yes, the illegals may cause some positive aspects to increase...but illegals are a bit of dishonest, not ethical, not honorable in their crossing the border without permission...it is immoral, it is sin, isn't it? --So, in my opinion an illegal immigrant is very much like a dishonest person who secretly goes to their neighbor's house and takes what is not theirs to take. That is always not-OK in any country of the world. It is a universal law ...One must not take what is not one's right to take... Nicht wahr? N'est-ce pas?? |
