The Dark Side of Invocana, the Diabetes Drug

Added: Thursday, August 11th 2016 at 8:32pm by Everett145

Invokana is a medicinal drug that is used to treat adults who are suffering from Type two diabetes. This drug is primarily used to lower blood sugar and improve glycemic control among patients. The primary function of this drug is to lower the blood sugar level in a person by causing the kidneys to remove sugar through the urine.

A few legal advisors list cases they have been encompassed in on their personal websites. Extensive prosecution involvement in complex business matters over numerous years is a decent pointer of skill. Most Diabetic ketoacidosis do it for the patients. It is mostly done by those lawyers, who have a good experience, and confidence in themselves.

If it was meant for the good, then why lawsuit was filed?

The manufacturers of invokana did not warn the patients and the doctors about the adverse side effects of this drug.

It was later found out that many people who had used this drug as prescribed by their doctors suffered from serious problems like myocardial infarction, kidney failure, and ketoacidoses.  Based on such impacts, the Invokana lawsuit was filed.

The most important side effects caused by invokana are heart attack and kidney damage. In kidney failure your kidney stops functioning. As a result, waste products, fluids as well as electrolytes build up in the body which can lead to lethargy, shortness of breath, with the rhythms of your heart turning abnormal, and this can also lead to sudden death.

In heart attack the cells within the heart die due to lack of blood which is caused due to blockage in the arteries of the heart. Heart attacks can also be fatal.

How the invokana manufacturers could have prevented the lawsuit?

Only if the manufacturers had been conscious enough to have warned the doctors and medical representatives about the harmful side effects that this drug caused then they could have protected themselves against the lawsuit.

Under such circumstances the doctors could have taken adequate measures to protect their patients against the dangers that came with consuming this drug. The patients also could have had their health monitored on regular intervals only if they were made aware about the side effects that could occur upon the regular use of this drug.

The invokana manufacturers were actually playing with the lives of thousands of people. As a consequence, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) filed a warning about Invokana and Invokamet in May 2015. Since then, attorneys have started filing lawsuits in favour of patients who have become unfortunate victims of Ketoacidosis after consuming Invokana.

Manufactures of medicinal drugs should learn a lesson from the Invokana lawsuit and try to do everything within their means to guarantee hundred percent safety and security to their patients.
