About Me
Thierry Sagnier is a writer whose works have been published both in the United States and abroad. He is the author of The IFO Report, (Avon Books), Bike! Motorcycles and the People who Ride Them (Harper & Row) and Washington by Night (Washingtonian Books). He is also the author of Thirst, a thriller based in Washington, DC’s, mean streets. Writing about People, Places and Things is a collection of essays chronicling Sagnier’s thoughts on writing, family and friendships, and cancer.
In 2016 he wrote The Fortunate Few , recounting the memories of the men and women who served with the International Voluntary Services, the precursor of the Peace Corps. L’Amérique , the tale of a French family coming to America in the 50s, was published in 2018 by Apprentice Press. He is currently working on sequels to L’Amérique, Thirst, and Montparnasse.
Thierry Sagnier was born in France and came to the United States in his early teens. He has worked and written for The Washington Post and several other newspapers and magazines, produced videos and short films for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, and was a columnist for Canada’s Le Devoir. He was Senior Writer for the World Bank and traveled the world to write about that institution’s projects in developing countries.
His plays have been produced both locally and by Tada Theater in New York, as well as featured by the East End Fringe Festival.
He currently lives in Virginia.
