I am a left-leaning American (I know, that's an oxymoron to many)  a mainline Christian of the Presbyterian variety, college educated, very "Left Coast", loves politics , movies, books about history and literature and detective novels and all things to do with sports (especially baseball and the NFL). I'm also a major Anglophile and there's nothing I can do about it now.

 

Note to casual visitors and any trolls about:  I'll take criticism of my views directed at me if it's not profane, but if you get nasty on one of my regular friends here , yes, I WILL BLOCK you six ways from Sunday.    

 

 Otherwise, I'm only grumpy from time to time. Usually I strive to please.  "Just don't call me an 'upstart'" as President Rufus T. Firefly, President of Fredonia, from the 1933 movie "Duck Soup" with Groucho Marx once said.
