About Me
I am a career teacher in eastern North Carolina. I entered a history classroom in 1975 at Mattamuskeet High School, and I began the evolutionary process of becoming an English teacher. By 1990, I was teaching English full-time. In 2007, I uprooted a successful and rewarding teaching career in Hyde County and started a new adventure in Perquimans County. After one year in an English classroom at Perquimans County High School, I accepted a new challenge: instructional facilitator. We are fortunate to have received an IMPACT grant that has provided our school the technology and professional development necessary to become a school worth watching. We have a strong professional learning community, and innovation is part of our climate. The decision to start a new adventure has proven to be a wise decision. I enjoy the challenges, but I especially enjoy the energy that exists within our school. We desire to learn more about teaching with technology, and every day we share our discoveries with each other. We have a tradition that dates back to 1924, but within the many wings of our school, we are as modern as tomorrow.
