The Best Mother-Daughter Bonding Moment At Home
Last Monday was Martin Luther King Holiday. And since my seven year old daughter didn’t have school, I decided to bond with her in the kitchen. At the young age of five, her passion for cooking stared manifesting much to my amazement. She would spend many hours with me while in the kitchen on special occasions where I would be cooking for guests. I was surprised to see her fascination for cheese, particularly with the mozzarella type. So I decided to make the tasty Bufala Mozzarella dish with her last Monday. It is called Marinated Mozzarella Balls. You will need the following:
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon lemon zest
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (halve next time)
2 teaspoons parsley herb blend, Gourmet Garden (I used regular dried parsley)
2 teaspoons basil herb blend, Gourmet Garden (I used regular dried basil, although fresh would be great too)
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1 (8 oz) container fresh small mozzarella balls, drained
Making this dish is extremely easy. In a medium bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon zest, lemon juice, parsley blend, basil blend, and red pepper. Add mozzarella, and stir gently to combine. Once done, it’s ready to serve.
You can actually store recipe this in the refrigerator for up to a week. So if you have some leftover, try draining the olive oil as best as you can and then store it in a clean container. Remember that the best dishes are the ones made with the freshest ingredients. You can get the most authentic Bufala Mozzarella Cheese from the only gourmet cheese shop online today!
