A great little B+B
A few years back for our anniversary I took my wife on a surprise over nighter to a great little place up in Big Bear California. I made all the arrangements and she had no idea where we were going or what was even up. I had arranged a certain room, with a big Jacuzzi tub, complete with a bottle of bubbly for when we arrived and another for after dinner. I chose a nice spot to eat on an outside deck, after all it was June and the weather was awesome.
The name of the place is The Gold Mountain Manor. It's one of those places that celebrities like to go. In fact Kenny G recorded his Christmas album there in the rec room. The place it's self is over 100 years old and is a log cabin, the room we used had been at one time the carriage house, but you would never know. The grounds were peaceful and very well kept and i would do it again there, for sure. I highly recommend the place and oh yeah, since it was a bed and breakfast, the woman who owns it is an awesome cook. A lot of the food was grown right there, she made her yogurt fresh and breakfast was as amazing as the place it's self. here's a little video I made of our trip, i hope you enjoy it!

it was made from a big pine three that had been hit by lightning by some famous sculptor who stayed there, i forgot his name, lol |

Why doesn't this surprise me as I know you are a romantic at heart! What a pretty place!! When we occasionally go to the beach, we always get the Holiday Inn's best suite. They have two on each floor...two huge rooms on the ocean front, with a whirlpool, kitchen, enornous walk in shower, balcony...and all the bells and whistles. It's really nice to live like those who actually have money - just once in a while. I'm sure you guys had a lovely time there. |

it's beautiful there. i really miss Lake tahoe, and this is very nice. It's an Alpine lake so it's very similar, the mountains, tress and all that. The villiage is great, theres a nice old town that you can walk and browse the shops, very cool indeed. |
