One small step for man, one slightly larger step for web developers

Today just became a good day. Google has announced that as of 2010 they are going to quit supporting Internet Explorer 6. Mind you at the moment we are already on IE8+, but still this is a step in the right direction.

"The web has evolved in the last ten years, from simple text pages to rich, interactive applications including video and voice. Unfortunately, very old browsers cannot run many of these new features effectively."

From Google Blogs.

That is putting it lightly. Basically IE6 does not do any of the cool stuff you want your web browser to do. One of the most demoralizing things of being a web developer is being yelled at by your users because something that will never work in their browser will never work. Granted this is all as if were able to ignore my previous rant with a straight face. If Google will not support it what luck do you have eh?

? Bobski: fellow bloggers have said that images copy better here using IE then ff.What have you found to work better for c/p images that stay rather then go whoosh? BTW: great new features and appreciate the hard work y'all do here.

works the same across all my browsers. (safari, firefox, ie8)

Thanks..and thanks to whoever made the polling secret ballot again!
