Good Morning Dallas, Today's Forecast is...
I woke up at 7:44am this morning to the sound of thunder. Ah, but not real thunder it turns out, that just happens to be the sound the Weather Channel application makes when it texts my iPhone about weather warnings that are in effect.
"Winter Storm Warning issued for Grapevine, TX until THUR FEB 11 2010 03:45:00 PM CST"
Eh, whatever. For giggles went and forwarded that image to my coworkers expecting it to be mostly a joke. Certainly a winter storm warning in Texas would mean nothing compared to a Winter Storm in Indiana. Which before I continue, I should note is true.
Still when I finally got to walking out my door and was greeted by four inches of snow, I was not a happy camper. Yet another coin in the bucket I been toting around for the past several years labeled "global warming is bull" - I been saying this since even before it came out that the scientists were lying and exaggerating data. Oh well, I had to go back and figure out which box my long warm coat was in before even attempting to go outside for real.

I am pretty sure this is not what we signed up for moving to Dallas.
It ended up not being that cold, and there is not much wind, but tonight it is suppose to dip well below freezing which means all this water and slush on the road is going to completely freeze over. Being from Indiana that does not bother me, I can handle myself fine in those conditions. What bothers me are the 200+ Texans I will encounter on the road who cannot drive when the road are clean, yet alone frozen.

4 inches! hah! we have like 4 feet on the ground! seriously. this has been one of the snowiest winters for delaware. and I am still loving it! |
I have seen pics of pileups in Texas when they get a dusting of snow. do they all jump in their cars like maniacs because it is snowing and they need milk and bread? LOL |
I lived in Dallas for five years. People in Dallas forget everything they ever learned about driving if it rains, much less snows. Take care! It will be a jungle out there! |
