Blogster and You - A Journal Update
Too many messages to reply to individually because they all say the same thing. Most of them kind, some of them mean and threatening which is always good for a giggle if I am in a good mood...
Earlier in the week we had a set of what I guess were disgruntled user[s] for reasons I do not even know or need to know who I guess decided would be fun to cause problems in terms of a spam bot to create false accounts. That however was handled, might I say, rather eloquently and then the hammer of justice brought down and the instance blocked. I have seen some reports of a private message spam that I think is unrelated, because we seem to get that same one like once every other month anyway fairly isolated.
Half hour later, network problems not even directly related to Blogster caused the site to drag its feet for a good chunk of the day. This was also delt with as swiftly as possible. Since then however we have still had periodic bursts of usage causing periodic bursts of slowness that we are working on tweaking out.
Another problem this week are reports of "random thing not working" - sparing you all the technical rabble it is because of the chat scripting not loading from being inaccessible to your browser and the browser is all like "oh no what do I do now? how about nothing." No, It is not your fault, and the weak link in this has been identified and hopefully resolved during the week. Until that fix is finalised I got a crutch running which will hopefully uberminimize or eliminate the issue.
Feel free to post your questions or comments here or in my messages still. But please remember we are pretty busy especially right now.

Yes, I had problems getting to my blog to reply to comments, sent messages from my e-mail. This happened after I received this (below) I guess by know you have caught it and taken care of it. I was going to report it, they were requesting to be a "friend" but figured I'd just "deny" and leave it alone. Here's the mail .... Queen20Girl has sent you a private message |

I was able to stay logged in 24/7 and all of a sudden--2 days ago--I have to log in every time I want to go to blogster--reason? |

none that i am aware of, unless you accidently put your browser in private browsing mode so that it forgets the cookies when you close it. or accidently adjusted some other cookie setting. this browser here was still logged in when i got in this morning. *shrug* |

My Report Bug doesn't seem to work and I can't imbed a You Tube video using the Widget. Thanks for your help. |

I had a problem with Queen20girl also wanting to befriend me. I deny and leave it alone. I had that problem with another person not to long ago. It might be that they are trying to get our email some how, so I always deny when something looks suspicious. I had lots of problems yesterday. Thanks for letting us know what is going on. |

even legit messages from legit users - you should be careful about giving out info. but yes that was the one i was referencing as there but not the big problem. |

pretty sweet, since my post admits i do not really know or care but you do. its not like spambots have artificial intelligence and are taking over the internet flushing out humans. someone had to take the time to tailor it. also pro since this version of the site under this management is just barely one year now if i recall when it was redone. |

This was an informative post and seems to me it would be better if it were presented in a news flash/newsletter format for everybody to see on the home page...just an idea. I think you guys are doing an awesome job and your site is developing into a great community...Thanks! |

I like the new setup for comments, but I wish you had left the Avatar on each comment. In a long list of comments, it was easier to find my Notification. Now it takes twice as long to find the reply. |

if you click the link that goes to your email, it should go straight to the comment. header notification probably get that today. |
