My Father.

My dad is a different man, kinda crazy at times, but he is a good man. Him and I haven't talked in almost four days before today. When I came home from Jasie's mother's service, I went straight up to my room, like always, but today, my dad was actually in a good mood. After I had taken a good four hour nap, he called me downstairs. He said this to me, while he grabbed me in a big hug, "I am so sorry for your friend's mother, I know how she feels, like when I lost Arthur."(My dad's old best friend, he died in a motorcycle accident) He continued to say, "If you ever need me Olivia, I will always be here, even if you can't see me." Him saying this has made me realize how much I miss him when we don't talk, and I regret stop talking to him, so I promised that everyday after he came home, that we would have at least a two hour conversation starting sunday. I love my father and would be devastated to lose him. And not only him, but anyone else in my family.I love them all very dearly and I hope that they all know that.

Do you tell them that?

Yeah, he knows.

Beautiful post.

Thank you.

Cherish your parents. Even though we don't always see eye-to-eye with then while growing up, these are the people who gave you life, so if for no other reason, we should be thankful for that. I lost my dad when I was just 27 and he was 54. A massive heart attack and poof...he was just gone. I am now in my late 50s and I think of him so often and am always jealous when I see others with their dads. My mom turns 86 next month, and I know the day will come when I no longer have her to turn to for the wisdom she still provides to me. I recently had some surgery on my hand, and when mom came over to see me and brought me some flowers, I still felt like her "little girl." She's always known how to make me feel better.

So please make sure you take advantage of the time you have with them, because the day will come when you are no one's little girl any more.  :-(
