Spicy Bean Cakes

"For a savory yet healthy substitute to hamburgers and other meat patties, try these spicy bean cakes, which are popular in other parts of Southeast Asia as well."

Ingredients:
- 1 cup boiled monggo beans, well drained
- 1 medium onion, minced
- 2 finger chilies, stemmed, seeded and minced
- 1/4 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 cup NESTLE All Purpose Cream
- 1 8g MAGGI MAGIC SARAP
- salt and pepper to taste
- peanut oil for frying
- 1/2 cup chopped onions
- 1/2 chopped tomatoes
- juice of 1/2 lemon
- 1 siling labuyo, minced
- 1 tsp sugar
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
1. Mash boiled beans to a textured puree with a food processor or potato masher.
2. Transfer to bowl and stir in onions, finger chilis, cumin, NESTLE All Purpose Cream, MAGGI MAGIC SARAP, salt and pepper.
3. Measure around 1/4 cup of the mixture, form into a patty, and fry in hot peanut oil. Cook for 1 minute on each side or until golden brown. Transfer on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
4. Serve with Fresh Tomato Salsa on the side.
