Sydney: March 2007

In this issue, our Aussie guest journo, Chuck Maboomerang makes his farewell contribution to The Daily Lama, as Ray and Nikki complete their three month tour of Australia, with a visit to the largest city in the country - Sydney. During their stay, Ray tries his hand at surfing and Nikki catches up with her two cousins and some old friends too!

Once they depart Sydney, Ray and Nikki will be going in different directions for a while. Nikki is going to work in Cambodia on an exciting project with 'Ensemble Creative Training & Development' and 'World Vision'. Ray is undertaking some 'solo' travelling for the first time, with a three - four month 'tramping' tour of New Zealand.

Whilst Amber Solaire will be following Nikki as she heads for Cambodia, I will be bringing you stories and pictures from Ray's journey around New Zealand. The Daily Lama will keep you posted about any online updates as usual.

Sydney is the most populous city in Australia, with over 4.2 million residents. It is also the state capital of New South Wales. Located on Australia's south-east coast, it is built around Port Jackson, which includes Sydney Harbour, and has been called the "Harbour City". It is Australia's largest financial centre and a major international tourist destination, notable for its beaches and twin landmarks: the Sydney Opera House and the HarbourBridge. Sydney has also played host to numerous sporting events, including the 1938 British Empire Games, 2000 Summer Olympics andthe 2003 Rugby World Cup.

Sydney is the site of the first European colony in Australia, established in 1788 at Sydney Cove by Arthur Phillip, leader of the First Fleet from Britain.

For both Nikki and Ray, returning to Sydney after several previous visits, it was a chance to meet with friends old and new, to take in a few of the sights (again) and to establish a temporary base so they could both prepare for their ongoing journey beyond Australia. "We were extremely fortunate that my very dear English pals, Matthew and Charlie, invited us to stay with them at their home" said Ray. "They have been loyal friends for many years, and each time I have visited Sydney to see them and their son Pete, they have asked me to stay - I can't believe they are not bored with me yet!" chuckled Ray.

Above: Matthew (left) and Elizabeth (aka "Charlie" - right) provide a fantastic welcome to Ray and Nikki (centre) as they arrive in Sydney

Below: Like many great friendships, Ray and Matthew go back a long way! These pictures were taken in 1991, when they both worked together. During the local annual snooker tournament, called "The Harrington Cup", both managed to reach the final. After a hard fought match, Ray emerged victorious - a return match has yet to be staged!

As we have reported so often before in The Daily Lama, Ray and Nikki have had more than their fair share of luck, arriving in a city without prior knowledge, and discovering that a special event is happening. "As soon as we arrived at Matthew and Charlie's house, they told us that the Queen Mary 2 (one of the biggest cruise ships in the world) was arriving in Sydney harbour early the following morning and that huge numbers of people were expected to turn out as she sailed through 'The Heads near Manly on her way to port" said Nikki. "We also learnt that for the first time in 50 years, the QE 2 was coming into Sydney on the same day - meaning both ships would be in port together" added Nikki. "Naturally, we decided to get up before sunrise the next morning to watch this historic event" said a very excitedRay.

Above: Matthew captured this fantastic shot of the Queen Mary 2 as she sailed through 'The Heads' on her way to dock in Sydney Harbour before sunrise. The ship is as tall as a 10 storey building, and the lights around her are the flotilla of small boats that have come to escort the magnificent vessel into the docking area

Below: "Keep the camera out, Matt" says Ray. "Nikki loves her photo's of sunrises and it looks like this is going to be a good one..." he adds

Above: Ray's predicition is confirmed as they watch the glorious sunrise over 'The Heads'

Below: Look closely in the upper part of the picture below and you will see one 'Sky Writers' tribute to the Queen Mary 2 (you should see the word 'Queen' in white smoke)

Having witnessed the historic arrival of The Queen Mary 2, Ray and Nikki set off in Matt's car to reacquaint themselves with some of Sydney's 'northern beaches' and headed to Palm Beach, at the far northern end of the Pittwater estuary. "We found out that this beach location has been heavily used in the filming of 'Home and Away', the Aussie soap opera" said Nikki. "Although we were unimpressed by this, we were totally gobsmacked by the views when we climbed up to the Barrenjoey Lighthouse at the end of the peninsula" added Nikki.

Above: Nikki stands at the foot of the Barrenjoey lighthouse (right) and looks south, over this spectacular vista

Below: No worries! Ray is not about to be eaten alive - the deceptive appearance of the rock behind him looks a bit like the huge jaw of giant reptile

No visit to Sydney is complete without an excursion to the Sydney Harbour area. "Arriving on the ferry from Manly is one of the best commuter experiences in the world" said Ray. "For most of the journey, the skyline is obscured, but when you pass the last corner of the bay, the whole picture opens up in front of you, with the bridge, opera house and city skyscrapers all coming in to view" said Ray.

"When we were in Melbourne, Ray arranged for us to do the 'Bridgeclimb' as his Valentines Day gift for me, although we were both very excited about it!" said Nikki. "I couldn't wait to get a view of the city from the top of the bridge" added a very enthusiastic Nikki.

Above: All ferries into Circular Quay pass the magnificent Sydney Opera House. To see a short video clip of Nikki on the ferry as it approaches Circular Quay, watch The Manly Ferry.

Below: The Queen Mary 2, in all her glory, docked in the harbour. It was too large for the International Terminal, so was given a berth in the nearby Naval dockyard

Above: The Sydney skyline, with the QE 2 docked at the International Passenger Terminal - the first time in 50 years that both of the large 'Queen' liners had been in the port at the same time

Below: Nikki (in the foreground) moves in for a closer look at the QE 2, on her way to take the Bridgeclimb with Ray

As they approached the starting point for the climb, the adrenalin started to pump. "We could see some groups of people already on the bridge" said Nikki. "They looked really tiny from down on the ground" she added.

After a rigorous safety briefing, their guide for the two and a half hour experience took them to the start point of their climb. "The highest point of the climb is about 450 feet above the water,  so they have to make really certain that no one is going to fall off!" said Ray. "Consequently, we were asked to wear special suits and a safety harness so that everything could be strapped to our bodies and we could be tethered to the bridge throughout the climb" explained Ray.

Above: Those tiny little figures spread along the arch of the bridge are groups of people on the Bridgeclimb!

Below: "Oooh - you look lovely!" Ray and Nikki 'gear up' and brace themselves for the Sydney Bridgeclimb

The views from the top of the bridge are some of the finest that Sydney has to offer. "It was very windy on the day we booked in to do the climb" Nikki told me. "Although it was not as physically demanding as some of the treks we have done - in fact it is almost a stroll apart from a few flights of stairs - it was still very exhilirating" said Nikki, as I spoke to her on her return to the Bridgeclimb office.

Above: Ray and Nikki (left) with the other members of their group, as they pose for a snap at the highest point of the Bridgeclimb

As both Ray and Nikki are no strangers to Sydney, and have visited several times before, sight-seeing was not really a big part of their agenda. "We came to Sydney knowing that it would be a great opportunity to catch up with friends and family" said Nikki. "I have two cousins, Ray has his own friends, and we have met numerous people on our travels in the last year who we want to see again, all of whom live in or around the city" added Nikki. "I also have a couple of business contacts in Sydney and I wanted to explore the possibility of doing some work here, so I arranged to meet them" added Ray.

One of the people that Nikki wanted to see again was her dear friend Kate Bartlett, who she had not seen since just before leaving England in 2005. "I have known Kate for about four years" said Nikki. "We met in Croatia, when we were both on a summer break and had a lot in common, including our interest in theatre. She was Head of Drama at a girls school in Brixton at the time. We formed a close friendship and then worked together on a theatre project to train teachers" she added.  "I was so excited about meeting up with her, as it gave me a real connection to home and someone who knew me well. From the moment we saw each other, it was like we had never been apart and I was laughing at her wicked humour from the off-set" recalled a very happy Nikki.

Above: Nikki is re-united with her friend Kate Bartlett, on Coogee beach, near Bondi

Some of our readers may remember the first ever issue of The Daily Lama, in December 2005, in which Ray and Nikki sent their Christmas wishes to everyone via a a special festive photograph. "We spent an hour that day making a poster with a Christmas greeting that we could both hold in a photograph" recalled Ray. "Then, we headed for the beach in search of a willing volunteer to take our picture" he added. "After a few minutes, we came across a lovely couple called Howard and Jacqui, who were there on holiday, and they took the memorable snap for us" he told me.

Above: Nikki catches up with Howard (right) and Jacqui - a couple that her and Ray met in Ko Samui, Thailand. Jacqui works as a flight attendant for Qantas and Howard, from England, works for the local town planning office. They live in Sydney and are expecting their first child in September - congratulations from The Daily Lama!

Another old friend that Nikki wanted to meet was Jerry Watkins, who she has known for over 10 years. They met when they both worked in theatre and the media in London. He has now emigrated to Australia and lives in Brisbane. "Luckily for me, Jerry happened to be on a business trip to Sydney when we were visiting, so we managed to spend an evening with him" said Nikki. "We had time to catch up with where our lives had taken us since our last meeting (two years ago) and I was intrigued to hear about where his passions and interests had taken him" added Nikki. "Part of his work at Brisbane University involves teaching Digital Story-making techniques, and he has travelled to many third world countries to share his skills, including Nepal and Indonesia. Not bad for the boy who I knew as a stage hand on Les Miserables!"

Above: Old pals Nikki and Jerry, re-united in the perfect location - 'The Old English Ale House' near Circular Quay

Meanwhile, Ray had also been busy organising social events with friends in the city. "In the eighties, I used to share a flat in London with a great Aussie guy called Stevo, who was married to another English friend of mine (Pauline) at the time" said Ray. "I have stayed in touch with them both over the years, and have managed to see Stevo each time I have been in Sydney" added Ray. "Pauline and Stevo have a daughter called Lily, who I first met when she was 9 or 10, and who is know in her thirties! - luckily for me, they all know Matthew and Charlie too so we all had a great dinner together at Matt and Charlie's home" said a very happy Ray.

Above: Ray's friend Stevo, who he met in London in the eighties. Stevo lives in a suburb called Avalon, has re-married a delightful lady called Katie and they have a ten year old daughter called Sophie (right). "He still looks as handsome as ever!" said Ray

Below: Lily, who is now thirty something, rocked up for dinner at Matt and Charlie's on her way to a party in town. She lives in the Bondi beach area and works as a marketeer for Sarah Lee, and is responsible for the Radox brand in Australia

Above: Katie (Stevo's wife) relaxes after a wonderful meal, cooked by Ray and Nikki's hosts, and tells them some amusing stories about life in the area. "She is really great company" said Ray

Below: Ray is completely content as he catches up with everyone. "I had such a lovely evening - all of the people here are long standing friends and because we know each other pretty well, it doesn't really matter that we have not seen each other that much - it feels like only days since we last were together!" Ray told me (Editors Note: Eagle eyed readers may spot the 'Hippy' picture in the background - yes, it is Matthew and Charlie in case you were wondering!)

Nikki has a grand total of seven cousins in Australia, and two of them live in or around Sydney. One of them, Paul, lives about one and half hours drive to the north of Sydney, in a small beach side town called Budgewoi. Nikki and Ray share cousin Paul's enthusiasm for travelling. He spent a couple of years journeying throughout Australia in a campervan, having some extraordinary adventures - including becoming an Opal miner in Coober Pedy. He has also travelled throughout Europe and South America, where he met Steff, his partner, and mother to their two delightful sons, Joshua and Mikka.

"Paul and Steff really made our stay with them superb" remarked Nikki. "Not only were they hosting us, but they also had another friend of Steffs from Germany - Mike - staying at the same time" added Nikki. "Not perturbed by an already full house, they arranged a barbecue for us on Saturday afternoon, when a further twenty friends and their kids rocked up" Nikki told me. "We all chatted, drank and ate Steff's delicious food, whilst the kids reeked havoc in the garden! My other Aussie cousin, Nigel, also made the journey up from Sydney and the party continued on late into the evening - again!" recalled Nikki.

Above: Ray (centre, left) and Nikki thoroughly enjoyed the barbecue thrown by Paul (right, in the blue T shirt) and Steff (centre, right). Next to cousin Paul is Nikki's other cousin Nigel, who lives in Collaroy, one of Sydney's 'northern beaches'

Below:... the party went on into the wee small hours!

The day following the barbecue, Ray was given an offer he couldn't refuse from Nikki's cousin Paul. "Would you like to have a go at surfing?" asked Paul, who has been surfing most of his life and is pretty good at it. "I have never done it before, but I'll have a go" replied Ray, "as long as you give me a bit of tuition first" he added somewhat apprehensively.

Above: The surfing tuition commences. "OK Ray - bring your board. First, you have to find the water, which is just over there...." says Paul (right)

Below: Doing well so far - "Found it, Paul" says Ray, as he heads towards the beach for the next instalment of his short and sweet surfing training session from Paul

Above: "It's all in the movement" explains Paul. To surf, you have to be able to 'paddle' out to the waves on your board (above left) and wait for the 'right' wave. When you see it coming, pick your moment and start the movement to get up and stand on your board (above right)......

Below: ..... Next, you have to shift your weight very quickly and 'snap' into the standing position (below left) and then you are ready to stand and catch your first wave! (below right). "It's great in theory" said Ray, "I'm not sure how I'm going to get on with this in practise..."

Above: "Here we go" thinks Ray as Paul escorts him out to sea and helps him spot the best waves to catch (left). "Paul was a brilliant coach" said Ray. "He was very patient, re-assuring and he swam out with me (right) all the way to where the waves were breaking" said a very appreciative Ray. "I couldn't believe how tiring it was - I was knackered just paddling out on the board!" he added.

Below: Transformation! After a couple of hours, Ray gets the hang of it and gives everyone a demonstration of how surfing should really be done!

Below: After the trials and tribulations of surfing, Ray returns to the beach for some more leisurely and less physically demanding activities with Nikki, including swinging Paul and Steff's youngest son, Mikka, backwards and forwards over the waves

Nikki's other cousin, Nigel, lives with his family in Collaroy, on the 'northern beaches' of Sydney. I asked Nikki for a bit of background information about him and his family. "Although it was twenty four years ago when I first met Nigel, it was eleven years ago when I was honoured to be a bridesmaid at his wedding, when he married Vicky" she told me. "A few years later, I happened to be in Sydney when their youngest son Matthew was being christened, so we have a long, wonderful shared history" said Nikki.

Nigel and Vicky invited Nikki and Ray over for the obligatory 'Sunday Arvo Barbie'. "It was very exciting and amusing to catch up with them and re-tell stories of our youth and shared experiences, but also rather embarrassing when the old photo albums came out!" recalled Nikki.

For Nikki, a visit to Sydney would not be complete without an opportunity to spend some quality time with the "girls" - namely, her cousin-in-law, Vicky.  "Us two have always been very close, since the first time we met in the UK, just after her and Nigel got engaged" Nikki told me. "What I like about Vicky is her sense of fun and her honesty - she is always a tonic to be around and has no problem in saying "I love you mate!", which she tells me often" said a very appreciative Nikki.

Below: Vicky and Sharon point to the dramatic cloud formation over the ocean - whilst the weather may not be that great on this particular day, they obviously love their beach life very much, as the smile on their faces shows

Above: Could Ray and Nikki have unwittingly discovered the next David Beckham? Nigel and Vikki's son, Matt, demonstrates his ball control skills in the garden for our two travellers

Below: Manly beach - farewell to Nikki's cousins Paul and Nigel and their families - "Manly Beach was one of the first places Paul and Nigel took me to on my first ever trip out here 24 years ago. So it seemed fitting that it was the venue for our last get together - at least for a while. It was very sad to say goodbye - I am lucky to have such a great family and I love them all dearly" added an emotional Nikki

During their last few days in Sydney, one of Matt and Charlie's friends invited our travelling pair to join a crowd of local people at a concert in the grounds of Taronga Zoo, to help raise money for charity. "We were asked if we would like to go to hear a local band who play covers of some of the greatest hits of the 70's, with songs by The Eagles, The Doobie Brothers, Jackson Browne and the like" said Ray. "Nikki and I made a picnic for everyone while Matt and Charlie were at work" added Ray. "It was one of those beautiful, balmy Friday evenings" said Nikki. "We started with a great spread of food and wine, and then waited with baited breath for the band to start" recalled a very excited Nikki.

With time fast running out in Sydney for Nikki and Ray, there was one final party to attend in the city before their departure. "Another brilliant couple, called Chantelle and Christian who we met in Bangkok, live here and we had already met them for dinner, earlier on in our visit" said Nikki. "Chantelle told us that she was having a brithday party in town while we were still around and invited us to join her and her friends" added Nikki. "For me, any excuse to dress up and get on the dance floor is always welcome!" she told me.

That evening, Ray and Nikki travelled in to the city via the ferry as usual, and were treated to one of the best sunsets of their entire journey to date. "We were not really expecting this - luckily for me I had just bought a new camera and I took the shot below for The Daily Lama, hoping it might give readers a sense of the awesome wonder of what we saw" said Ray.

Above: One of those unforgettable moments for Ray and Nikki - the sunset over Sydney Harbour, captured by Ray on his new camera - awesome!

Below: Happy Birthday Chantelle (second from left) - Christian, Nikki and Ray join in with her celebrations. "They are both really genuine and sincere - I feel like we have established a great realtionship with them" said Nikki

Knowing that they would be going in different directions on their exit from Sydney, Ray and Nikki set aside the whole of their last day to spend time together, including preparing a special event for Matthew, Charlie and Pete to acknowledge their fantastic hospitality. "During the day, we chose to visit the botanic gardens, right beside Circular Quay in the centre of the city" said Nikki. "We were so glad we chose to go there - we had not quite realised how beautiful the gardens are and we also discovered that they are the resting place for the city's population of bats!" remarked a rather surprised Ray.

Above: Ray pictured in the Botanical Gardens adjacent to Circular Quay, with the iconic Sydney Harbour bridge just visible over the trees

Below: Nikki examines one of the many sculptures on display in the gardens - a Maori drumming tree that was used to call the community to gather - Nikki's drumming techniques appear to have had the opposite effect - not a soul in sight!

Below: Those strange looking pod like objects hanging from the branches of this tree are actually bats! There are hundreds of them in the gardens...

Back at Matt and Charlie's house later that evening, Ray and Nikki revealed to their unsuspecting hosts that a surprise had been arranged, and invited them to attend a special 'ceremony' in their lounge before sitting down for dinner. "Nikki and I really wanted to make them feel appreciated and realise the special regard we have for them as they had been so generous towards us" said Ray. "We called the Daily Lama office and got special permission to include them in the Daily Lama's 'Annual Global Hospitality Awards', which (by a stroke of luck) were about to be distributed to a select small number of winners" added Ray.

Above: Ray shows his obvious excitement as he rounds up the Taylor family and directs them towards their seats for the Daily Lama 'Annual Global Hospitality Awards' ceremony - in their own living room!

Below: No awards ceremony would be complete without a glamorous, attractive woman in a black dress, on hand to hand over the trophies - Nikki plays the part perfectly!

Above: The 2007 Daily Lama Annual Global Hospitality Award goes to.... the Taylor family! "And justifiably so" say Ray and Nikki. Pete comes forward to collect the prestigious award on behalf of the family (left) and Charlie is positively glowing (right) as she enjoys their big moment

Above: There was a special Daily Lama award for eight year old Pete - for his outstanding achievements in 'mathletics' - an online study method used by his school to help pupils learn Maths. Pete consistently gets great results and this earned him the proud title of The Daily Lama Super Mathlete, 2007

Below: Pete displays his trophy (left) and his very own Daily Lama T Shirt (right), only the second one to be awarded since we started publishing online in 2005

After the awards ceremony, Ray and Nikki's highly celebrated hosts joined them for a wonderful meal, prepared by Nikki. "Charlie and Matt had made me feel really welcome in their home and, like Ray, felt a part of their 'extended' family" said Nikki "I really wanted this last meal to be special, to show my appreciation and love for them, and to give them a chance to relax in their own home without having to worry about the cooking and the dishes!" she added. "We embraced this final opportunity to sit around the dining table and enjoy fine wine and fine conversation. I hope it is no too long before I see them again" said a very appreciative Nikki.

Above: "How many fingers am I holding up, Matt?" asks Nikki. Much wine and laughter flowed as our friends spent their last evening together, for a while anyway!

Below: He is such a great bloke - one in a million" says Ray, about Matthew

Below: Charlie just loves to create paintings in her little studio - with our two travellers out of the way, she will hopefully have a bit more time on her hands!

With both of our travellers taking early flights from Sydney airport, they decided to spend their last evening at a hotel near the airport. "It was a great idea, because it meant we could squeeze in a bit more time together and only have to make a very short trip to get our flights" said Ray.

After their departure, Nikki was headed for Cambodia, with 'Ensemble Creative Training & Development', to train 10 'World Vision' facilitators in using Forum Theatre to help mobilise communities into awareness and debate around child protection issues. "This is a day of many firsts" Nikki told me, as she was about to leave for the Airport. "It will be the fist time I have trained anyone in Forum Theatre techniques, and my first time working with an NGO (non-government organisation) in development. It will also be the first time Ray and I will have spent longer than six weeks apart, since we first started travelling in November 2005" she added. "I feel nervous, excited and very sad in equal measures! Ray is such a supportive and encouraging partner and I will miss having immediate access to him, and I will miss his cuddles!" added an emotional Nikki.

Ray was quite philosophical when I asked how he felt about continuing his travels without Nikki, at least for a while. "I have mixed feelings about it" said Ray. "On the one hand, I have had an amazing time, travelling with Nikki throughout Asia and Australia - she is such a brilliant person to have done this with" he told me. "On the other hand, her project has come at a time when I instinctively feel I would like to experience solo travelling, which I believe is somehow connected to my inner journey and an important part of my exploration - I have never travelled alone before and I really want to know how I deal with it" added Ray.

Above: The view from Ray and Nikki's hotel window - an emotional time for them both as they head in different directions

Editors Note: Thanks Chuck for your splendid contribution to The Daily Lama while Ray and Nikki have been in Australia - our readers have really enjoyed your articles. We are re-organising ourselves at present, so that we have the opportunity to bring you stories about both Ray and Nikki - I will be following Ray on his travels, while Amber is going to be making sure she keeps an eye on what Nikki is up to. Look out for forthcoming update announcements.

Daily Lama 'Out-takes'

Anyone who has been involved in a creative endeavour will know that when you see the final version of a film, television show or play, or read a good book or article, that someone has edited out material considered unsuitable. You rarely get to see what get's left on the cutting room floor - sometimes referred to as out-takes - but we thought that you might like to see some of the work that goes on at The Daily Lama office, in assessing and selecting some of the photographs that Ray and Nikki send to us for possible inclusion in our articles about them.

So, for the first time, we present some of the pictures taken by Ray and Nikki that did not quite make it into our publication, with our '10 Golden Rules' for other budding photographers out there who are looking for the 'perfect snap':

Golden Rule #1 - Position your subject appropriately - make sure that the viewer will not be distracted by anything in the background - in this case, the two huge pink plastic sails that look like Matthew has sprouted some bunny ears!

Golden Rule #2 - Flatter your subjects - make sure that your photographs present people at their energetic best and definitely avoid snaps like this one, as Charlie takes a break and puts her feet up at home

Golden Rule #3 - Use black and white for effect - although ensure that you have not indavertently recorded your subject doing something indiscreet - in this case Nikki eating a rather large piece of cream cake with her tea!

Golden Rule #4 - Always check that the subject is ready to be photographed, rather than surprising them by whipping out the camera before they get a chance to put their clothes on! Mike, with top in hand, is captured with a grin that could be alerting the photographer to his discomfort!

Golden Rule #5 - Encourage subjects to really interact with the camera - make sure at the very least that they are awake and aware they are being photographed, unlike this picture of Stevo

Golden Rule #6 - Check that the costumes are up to date - Matt was snapped here modelling a shirt he borrowed from Robin Hood of Sherwood Forest, which would have been cool two hundred years ago but would leave our readers yawning today!

Golden Rule #7 - Get the lighting right - if this photo had not been left out on the basis of its total silly-ness, it would have got the chop for the poor lighting which means you cannot really see how daft Nikki's cousin Nigel actually looks!

Golden Rule #8 - Just like Golden Rule #5, make sure your subjects stay awake and keep interacting with the camera - if necessary, give them a little nudge under the table, as Ray does with Stevo in the picture above

Golden Rule #9 - Check that all the props needed for the photograph are available before the shoot - poor Lily has to mime holding a .......? We'll leave you to guess!

Golden Rule #10 - Never try and 'fake it' - Ray tried to get this picture past us, claiming that he had been attacked by a group of giant Kangaroos - we saw through it immediately and realised that he had rigged the photo in front of an illuminated poster, with Nikki as his accomplice of course!

User Comments

One of your usually superior posts. BTW, if I ever need pictures like the ones you have posted, could I have your permission to use them in another publication?
Ray Ussery
Of course! Thanks for reading and apologies for the slow reply.
Mozzie
I am so slow that it seemed to be a rapid response.
What is a boomerang that doesn't come back?

A stick.
Will you both be posting after your "separation?"
It sort of annoys me that more people don't checks your posts and respond.
Ray will be posting on http://dailyexplorer.blogster.com. Nikki has not yet decided.
Mozzie

You have had some great collections of photos. I have enjoyed them mucho.
