My dad's sisters, the youngest of ten siblings.

My twin aunts, Sharon & Karon, had the same type of surgery a few months ago, and at the same time.

My cousins, each of their sons, are genetically half brothers, since their moms are identical twins. They grew up with each other, and see each other as siblings.

Around the time as Aunt Karon, and Sharon's surgeries they both cut their fingers, and went into the hospital for treatment. I think they each got stiches.

They were all miles apart;  towns apart actually.

I found this interesting, so I thought to share it.

My grandma told me this over the phone Sunday night after my dad told me about it, the surgeries that is. Grandma filled me in on the extra synchronicity concerning my cousins Cardell & Darrius.

Neat huh ! ? Everybody has since then recovered, and is doing fine. So we can breath now-whew.

I just think it's so cool hearing about synchronistic events like this.

You, I, and everone can see these things happen everyday if you open up your eyes, observation, and perception to it. They happen mostly with someone whom you keep contact with frequently such as family, a significant other, a twin, a friend, co-workers, acquaintances, etc.

Now this is what I call

Beautiful family.  Thanks for introducing us to them.  I'm glad you can all stay in touch and get along.  So many families are disfunctional and distanced.

Thank You, yes there are plenty of them. I'm glad we can all get along. We are distanced though, but we do what we can to stay in touch- some more than others ;-

;- )

Handsome group of folks. I have read about amazing things happening with twins, no matter how far away, or even when they were separated at birth and adopted.

YES, observation...perception..aware. Love the Tw(in)tell.

Thank you Ana :)

Hmmm, interesting stories.

Genetic connections, even in 'non-twins' can be quite interesting to learn about.

My mother was adopted when she was four years old.  She did have vague recollections of her real mother.  It was in the 30's, the country was still in the depression, her mother just couldn't take care of her.

She was adopted by a very good family, and had a good childhood, so no complaints there.  But all her life, she wanted to see her mother again, at least one time.

About 20 years or so ago, she and dad got a call out of the clear blue sky.  It was her mother's granddaughter.  The family had been trying to track my mom down off and on for years, and finally found her.  A family reunion was planned, and my folks went to Ohio to meet her family.  It was quite an amazing experience.  As they all got acquainted she found that she had much in common with them, (mother, half brothers and sister) that she did not have in common with her adoptive family.  Not only a lot of the same likes and dislikes, but also things like sense of humor that were very similar.  They had several family get togethers after that.  Her mother has since passed away, but she was sooo thrilled to get to see her again.  She still maintains regular contact with her sister, and some with her brothers.  Her sister has come to Omaha to visit a few times.

One interesting side note.  Mom kept thinking there was something familiar about her sister's husband.  Finally figured it out.  He had been the football star in her high school while she was going, and she'd had quite a crush on him at one point in time, altho she didn't personally know him.

Ha! What are the odds of that eh? See, stuff like that. It's pretty neat.

I've thought a few times about doing a post, or a series of posts on 'genetics vs. environment' and explore these kind of issues.  I personally believe a person's personality and behavior tendencies are influenced at least as much by genetics as it is from environment and upbringing. I've just never gotten around to doing it, like many topics I've threatened to do posts on...lol  I guess sometimes I just get too lazy.

Maybe you'll now be known as the Mirror Family?....{#basic-smile.gif}

Yes That's a good name & description :)
