MC 's Comments at Tammy's Memorial

MC gave the following comments at TAmmy's Memorial:

Thou shalt alive together in blove, insomuch that thou shalt cweep for the loss of them that die,

“Thou shalt mourn with those that mourn…”

“In every thing give thanks…”

When I first heard that Tammy had died, I cried out loud and a thousand thoughts went through my mind.  Was she really gone?  Let me up, maybe I can save her.  No?  She can’t be gone.  Desperation washed over me.  She was really gone.  There was nothing I could do.  I lay in bed afterwards thinking about Tammy.  She had   been married to Jimmy for nearly twenty years and had lived in our home formany of those years.  I remember the first time I saw her.  I remember her expecting babies.  I remember her happy and sad.  I remember her bright intelligence.  I remember her self-doubt.  Grandkids coming to visit grandma and soon asking to go downstairs to spend time with Aunt Tammy

She always had time to talk to folks about their problems and help them organize their thoughts.

Dogs, kids, all people:  she talked to them all the same.  Kids loved her because of it.

I remember how much I love her.  I hardly know what to say.  I hope she knows that we loved having her in our home and in our family.  I hope she remembers what a good mom she is.  I hope that somehow everything will be all right again.  There’s nothing we can do for Tammy now but remember her.  Well, maybe there are some things we can do for her.  It seems clear that mourning and shedding tears are desirable. The pain we feel can teach us to love one another if we call upon the Spirit tocomfort us.  Because, after all, a loving heart is the truest wisdom.  A teacher I once had told us that death was one of the things that makes life sweet.

We can be thankful for Tammy and believe that we can all be together again. I believe it.

Death certainly is one of the things that makes life worth living, MC.  But not the only thing, of course.

May you remember, seek out, and experience, all those others during this sad time.

These are the Götterfunken, the divine sparks, and they keep us going when nothing else will.

May Tammy's survivors be forever showered with them.

Including yourself, and daddy-o too.

Much Love,

(((((hugs)))))

"A loving heart is the truest wisdon".  (I think I will have to put this on a plaque!)  Beatiful thoughts amidst the sadness.  It's good to see you here MC!  Thank you for sharing this with us.
