So, I have been in the process of writing 3 different novels. One I started back about 4 years ago. I will have a really good few months of writing and then I'll just stop and it seems like it takes everything I have to start up again. I'm not sure why. I feel like maybe its because I feel like no one believes I could ever write something good. I am a horrible speller and even worse with grammer! But I enjoy writing. So what to do. What to do! I am thinking of posting some of my novels on here, just to see if anyone would be interested in the things I am writing in the first place! I Know you guys would be honest with me, and that is what I need! Tell me what you think about me writing and if anyone would be interested in reading it and telling me what is what!

Thanks

I have the same problem only to find my ideas got used.  Keep writing. Never stop or give up.  I keep journals that things that will probably go unread but ONE day you will find your area of expertise and it will hit you out of the blue.  Best advise, use it when it comes and don't stop.  Heaven knows we need something new.  It's there, take it!

Spellcheck..good program.  Need to use it a LOT more!{#embarassed.gif}

"grammar" too LOL

Three novels at once? That's a lot of juggling, isn't?

There are spelling and grammar checkers to use as a first run through before someone else edits it/them. I get annoyed quickly when the basic issues haven't been fixed before I edit something, but I'm honest.

I am writing only 1 novel but have the same problem of keeping on writing. It seems that  I am forever getting writers block & have to wait til inspiration once again descends on my brain.

Don't worry about grammar or spelling--many 'classics' have run on sentences, paragraphs that never end--write for yourself expressing yourself in your 'language'--people will get what you are writing about.

Ugh. Those "classics" are a pain in the, um, something to read.

Yes but they stand out because they are different and that's what made them classics except for you grammar and spelling police!!! LOL

Just a quickie--of my 6 published books the best seller was one ruined by my editor who published it without giving me  a  chance to proof it!!!

Yeah, I know, that makes it part of the "fun" and makes dialog more realistic, but still makes the text/prose hard to read. Over-zealous editor.

Thank you everyone for your support and Honesty! I truly appreciate it! I will be posting some of my idea's online! As long as you all promise not to steal them...lol{#basic-wink.gif}

I think writing is more about spirituality and journey. It's not about the perfection you can achieve. It's more about YOU. Remember writers aren't meant to be perfect and they're pretty loony.

First things first, practice. You can't expect to have great grammar and punctuation by writing first-handedly. You need to write, and that's what eventually will get you to the top.

Second. You have to read. I tell people this over and over again, especially those who are genuinely interested in writing and are beginning. They TRY to go around the bush, and think that without reading they'll make it. FALSE! Readind is so important, and has such a large reflection on how you write, what you write, and you're skills concerning developmental characters, thoughts, sentences and so forth.

Third. Be yourself. Don't expect yourself to be like Stephen King. Everyone specializes in something specific, and that's what makes all of us special and unique. You have to find your voice in whatever you're writing; and sometimes that process can take years. I am almost there, but not quite because I love to write to about all sorts of things.

I would love to read your stuff, if you do have a chance post it up. We won't judge, but we will give you feedback. Remember that honestY IS the best policy (especially in this case) - you have a lot of potential and I know you can do it.

GOOD LUCK.

Thanks! I appericate your honesty, and I Thank you for your advice. I will post something eventually!

Yes, listen to Miss Savagette. She knows what she's talking about! Smart woman! Good Luck on your writing! It's a great journey!
